Does anyone have any news or heard from the US Consulate in Montreal, I don't know what's going on but I didn't heard from them since my case has been create (March 31st) andsent to them on April 5th! They aren't very good answering emails also so that doesn't help! the lack of communication on their side doesn't help either.

Ps: I am french in Canada and I have my permanent residency.

I tweeted yesterday the us consulate in Montreal because I still did not hear from them since they received my case on April 5th and got a boring answer like please be patient blablabla and the us fiance of my friend here in Montreal did the same thing and he got a different answer and her case moved forward and she received her packet 3 right away. I am so pissed right now, I hate injustice/discrimination especially that our case was in the same stage and we're both french living in Canada.

I just got my packet 3 today and it says it can take up to 6 weeks before they send us packet 4... so i guess not hearing from them for another month is normal ?

yeah but it never takes that long don't wory you will receive way sooner that that!

Sorry, how is there discrimination involved? I get it that it sucks waiting, but some people's files move faster than others.

Also from what I read on here that as of April , the Montreal office is now taking on cases which used to be handled in Vancouver so it makes sense if some of their process moves a little slower at first. Just be patient as we have all had to go thru this. :)

Just got packet 4 ! Are we paying the fees at the interview?? When I booked my interview there was no way to pay online..

Are you a K1?

The same thing happened to us actually. Turns out we scheduled the wrong type of interview. They ended up canceling the appointment we made, and we had to call to get help setting up a new account and start over. When we started over it made us pay the fee before we could even see available appointment dates.

If you are a K1 and it let you book your appointment without paying first, you may want to ask the consulate if you have the correct type of interview scheduled!

So first you'll want to check with the consulate to make sure what type of visa interview you are currently scheduled for. You can't call them, so you'll have to email (Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov).

If you are scheduled for the wrong one, then you'll have to call the scheduling company to have them help you fix it. Their information is on this website- https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/information/contact_us.

What day of the week is yours currently scheduled? When we booked the wrong one, it was on a Monday. Turns out K1 visas are scheduled on Wednesdays. So that may help you decipher before you hear back from Montreal.

I wouldn't cancel until you talk to the consulate.

When we called the scheduling company, they didn't understand what we were talking about at all. So I would rely on what the consulate says.

Unfortunately it will probably be a couple days until the consulate replies. When is your interview currently scheduled for?
