General rule is you need police clearance from all countries you've lived in for more than 1 year after the age of 16.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

 

K1 process

9/24/15: I129f sent

9/30/15: NOA1

11/2/15: NOA2

Delayed processing due to work

3/15/16: Medical

4/28/16: Interview (approved)

Delayed entry due to work

8/12/16: POE Detroit

 

9/4/16: Wedding!

 

AOS process:

9/9/16: I485/I131/I765 sent

9/14/16: Received 3xNOAs by text/e-mail (day 2)

9/14-18/16: Received 3xpaper NOAs 

9/23/16: Received biometrics appointment letter (day 11)

10/3/16: Biometrics appointment (day 19)

11/4/16: EAD+AP approved (day 53)

11/16/16: EAD status changed to card shipped (day 65)

Jan 15 - Visa ISSUED!

Jan 21 - VISA ON HAND! (8 working days from interview)

March 21 - CFO / PDOS for K2s

June 1, 2016 - POE

July 18, 2016 - Married

I am his and he is mine from this day until the end of my days..

but under the reciprocity of this goverment website - https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/AE.html

says that Available if the applicant is physically present in UAE.

Anyone who experienced this?

Quote from linked website: "Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE."

Hi, kindly help me please, my application in K1 is already on process, do i need to get a police clearance from UAE? I worked there from 2010-2012, now im currently in the Philippines.

UAE is a waiver country, can't get the police certificate except in person, the embassy waivers that requirement.

Hi, kindly help me please, my application in K1 is already on process, do i need to get a police clearance from UAE? I worked there from 2010-2012, now im currently in the Philippines.

I was as confused as you are about getting Police Certificate from UAE. I finally ended up sending email to my local embassy where I had my interview and asked them is it true Police Certificate is not required if person is not living in UAE. I told them I lived and worked in the UAE but its extremely difficult to get the Police Certificate. they reply its not required and I send that email as an evidence. you can also try that.

AOS from K-1 visa

5/27/2016: Entered US on k-1 visa

6/01/2016: Married!

7/22/2016: I-485 & I-131 & I-765 sent to USCIS

8/1/2016: NOA via SMS & Email received

8/3/2016: NOA letters received

8/10/2016: Biometrics appointment letter received (scheduled for 26 August)

8/26/2016: Biometrics done at Alexandria, VA

9/19/2016: RFIE E-Notification Received

9/23/2016: RFIE Letter Received

10/27/2016: Responsed back to RFIE Letter

10/31/2016: USCIS received RFIE Letter

11/15/2016: Open Service Request on USCIS as EAD/AP was beyond regulatory time frame

11/15/2016: An hour later EAD/ AP approved, Status Changed to: New Card is being produced

11/22/2016: AP approval letter received in the mail

11/23/2016: EAD/ AP Combo Card in Hand, collected from mail box at 2pm.

12/07/2016: USCIS status updated to interview is scheduled for 01/09/2017.

12/10/2016: I-485 interview letter received in mail.

General rule is you need police clearance from all countries you've lived in for more than 1 year after the age of 16.

UAE is an exception, the state department doesn't require it unless you currently present there.

worked in Sharjah, UAE 2007-2009; applied for K1 2010 while living in the Philippines, UAE police clearance not required by then.
