Travel Tax??

Boracay was the first island resort that we went to. It has a special meaning for us because it was the first time we met in person. We stayed at Nigi Nigi Too, so it was a bit away from the main hotel area. Too be honest, we did not venture out much because the hotel and beach was so beautiful. The room and lanai were very big and we could bring our food/drinks right up to the beachfront. Perfect. The cheap live lobster was a bonus! I could do without the people hawking all the ####### all day, but minor inconvenience. We went to Bohol on the next trip (the "pop the question"trip!") The beach was not as spectacular, but there was a lot more to do inland. We are definitely looking forward to El Nido!

My neighbor is in El Nido at the moment, I was checking out her pics, Looks pretty cool. The underground river in Sabang is ok, I wouldn't make a special trip to see I have seen much larger and more beautiful in Mexico. I did enjoy the white beach and waves in Sabang.

And your flight to Manila is all of what? 11 hours? I could only wish for that short of a flight

Yeah..it's got to be brutal from the mainland!

My neighbor is in El Nido at the moment, I was checking out her pics, Looks pretty cool. The underground river in Sabang is ok, I wouldn't make a special trip to see I have seen much larger and more beautiful in Mexico. I did enjoy the white beach and waves in Sabang.

I am starting to get excited! We are also taking the whole family to Zambales for 2 days before Joan and I head down to Palawan. It's going to be a nice trip.

I've been to plenty of beaches back home but my #1 would have to be El Nido. El Nido has turned me into a beach snob. I need white, powdery sand and turquoise waters whenever we plan to go to a beach now.

Then you've never been to Calaguas. Off of Vinzones, Camarines Norte. Whiter sand and greener / bluer water than El Nido. Just my opinion having been to both. Of course Calaguas also has far fewer 'creature comforts' than El Nido.

All Philippine green card holders are exempt from the travel tax, however, they have to pay 200 pesos for an exemption certificate that most airlines look for when you check in at the counter. Also, the terminal fee is included in the cost of the ticket only at Manila. If you fly out of other Philippine airports, you still have to pay the terminal fee separate. I also have a big beef with baggage fees that I will go into separate as to not change the topic of this thread.
