$120 Fee for Filing Affidavit of Support with I-485?

Hi all,

I am looking for some clarification. On the Department of State website, it says there is a $120 filing fee for the Affidavit of Support if it is being filed within the U.S. Does this mean that the Adjustment of Status application fee is actually $1190 in total (the I-485 fee of $1070 plus the Affidavit of Support fee)?

Thank you for your help!! :)

hi

no, that fee is for those going through consular processing and having their interview in their country

there is no cost of the i864 with i485 and adjustment of status in the US

If you're adjusting status in the US, you're not filing the form with DOS, but with USCIS so no fee. The part that says DOS does charge a fee when this form is filed in the U.S. refers to filing the form with NVC.
