Hi all,

A terribly minor question about the G-325A for adjustment of status from a K1 :)

Technically, I'm going to have two addresses. The first line had "Present Date" written in on the form already. I presume that it is okay for me to write in "Present date" for the other address too. The only reason I bring it up is that I don't know if these forms are read in using some form of optical character recognition software. I wouldn't want the form to get rejected by the software due to something so minor. I've included a mock up of what I mean in the attached picture.

Simon.

Just curious, but how do you currently reside in two houses at the same time?

Does your mail go to both of them?

Which one do you spend more time at?

Even those who own two homes have a primary address and then their secondary address for the second home, in this case you list all of your PRIMARY addresses. You only have ONE primary address.

Thanks for your question Ash.1101. I didn't plan on going into too much detail due to the simple nature of the question and that the circumstances might not apply to everybody. However, I'll be happy to provide more detail :)

We have a primary residence where most of our post goes to and which is registered as our tax home with the IRS - that is our legal address where everything is registered, the address to which we get all of our immigrant documents sent, and that we that we will list first on the G325-A. It is our proper home and has been in partner's family for years! However, we'll only spend about two days a week there (the weekend).

The nature of my partner's job is one which involves assignments in places of her choosing where we often need a second residence due to it being commutable on a daily basis. The company reimburses us the rent on the second residence which we use for 3-6 months at a time before moving onto the assignment (and usually not the same residence). We tend to spend 5 days a week there. Per IRS rules about business expenses, our second residence might be where we spend most of our time but it is certainly not considered our primary residence given that we are only there for business purposes. I go with her because we're married :) We do get some post sent to her new job but only legal things that need to go there (e.g. state licensing for her job).

If we didn't travel with out jobs then we would be in our primary residence. Annoyingly, the two residences are in different states otherwise it wouldn't be an issue. The primary residence is in on e state, and the secondary residence is in another state which is where her job is located. This is the default, common modus operandi in my partner's field. I hope that clarifies as to why I the circumstances underlying why I asked the question! (and also why I didn't go into to much justification in the first place haha!).

Simon.

P.S. I don't see any mention of the Primary Address wording for the specific question on the G325A. The question of the wording, as per the attachment I uploaded in my original post is: "Applicant's residence last five years. List present address first."

Hi all,

I am in the same boat with multiple present addresses too.

I own a home in the state where I grew up and moved to my current state for a 5-year job. I have an apartment where I am now but go to my primary home in the other state about once a month and on all holidays. I will assume it's like if someone is at college.

How should I list them?

Address 1 (House I own and consider primary/permanent) 2008-Present
Address 2 (Apartment I rent for my 5-year job) 2012- Dec 2016 (closest I could come to present) (though I won't be finished until 8/2017
Does this create an out of chronological order?
Should I do an attached sheet explaining the concurrent dual residences?

Note: I receive mail at both and have a credit record at both addresses.

Thanks!

I hope so,  this post is from three years ago

 Ain't that the truth.

The actual story on the Form I-325A is that USCIS now longer requires the use of this form. Looks like this change took place over two (2) years ago. https://www.nolo.com/legal-updates/uscis-no-longer-requires-form-g-325a-with-adjustment-of-status-application.html :wow:

A simple Google search would reveal this result. Google can also be your friend.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
