Immigrant visa, date of expiry

Hi everyone. Our visa expires on May 3. Is it ok to land in the U.S. on that day? Is that possible? Thank you.

In theory it should be ok, but why risk it? What happens if your flight gets delayed?

I entered the day before my visa expired without any issues buy I know it was close. Thankfully everything went smoothly.

That's the only thing I'd be concerned about as well. I can't tell you how many times it happened to me that I got to my destination a day (date-wise, not 24hr-wise) after I had intended due to missing connections through no fault of my own (American Airlines once couldn't find our plane going back from the States, if you can believe that, as in it wasn't in the hangar it was supposed to be in).

Too risky. Anything can happen. I once flew with United from Europe and arrived a day late because someone had a heart attack on the plane over the Atlantic and we had to land in Canada to get the passenger off and to the hospital. We then had to refuel and the crew hours had to be recalculated. It was a mess. Instead of landing on a Tuesday I actually landed a few minutes after midnight on Wednesday.
