I believe you need to, as learner's permit is to pass the road regulations in Georgia.

I applied my State ID with SSN and I-94 when I first arrived, I was having difficulties including my name in my husband's bank accounts back then, banks refused to do so. (Bofa,Chase,Wells Fargo)

They gave me a temporary paper card State ID and after passing the learner's, I got an actual state ID.

So funny how everything is different. I got added with no issues to all my husbands accounts without state ID or State DL.

Yes our insurance agent and hotline told us the same thing. Without Georgia License I can't drive, hence, can't include as a driver in car insurances, therefore I was placed as a passenger. My car insurance is around 770usd per 6 months.

As for bank accounts our funds are not much, they didn't allow me to be included. I brought cash with me when I first arrived, and they rejected to include me till I've got my State ID which I did a week after. I had to bank the cash into my husband's account initially.

And banks been deducting funds from our joint bank accounts under "Federal withheld", I have come to realize that later, went to ask the bankers bout it and was told that they did not receive any information update on my green card approval (I actually did inform them in person) so there is actually a federal charge from my savings. Till date, unable to get refunds.

Same goes to phone and internet bills(comcast and Tmobile) couldn't include my name in till I've got the temp state ID.

And for lease, till now, I am unable to include my name in the lease agreement. I am only able to include as an occupant but not tenant as it requires a 3X salary and credit score which I have none,(apparently even I have shared cards with my husband and credit score shows our scores are the same, renting doesn't seem to be using the same method) I'm using my cousin's name as a guarantor to me to joint tenant with my husband atm.

Wow seems like you have been very unlucky. I have not had any of those problems at all.

I hope everything will be fine for you and that you'll be able to get the refunds!

Im actually very worried about removal of conditions because the lease agreements has my cousin's name and not mine even though I'm listed as occupant. However, our joint accounts show monthly payment though and I have been paying some bills with my savings.

About refunds we tried months since last year to get it back but banks do not respond to us, giving us excuses its hard to get it back so on. So we just forgo it, they stopped deducting now though which is a good thing. Just got to becareful on statements showing "federal withheld".

Oh yes when I went to DMV back then, I remembered the lady officer told me, she hasn't seen a k1 for AGES! So I believe that is also why I was having problems with applying learner's back then. I went to forest park dmv. I can't wait to move lol..

If you are on your husbands CC also you will get credit that way. Have you checked your credit score to see if something has come up?

I would get her name off of there just having his name as then yours as the occupant would be fine. But see if you do got some credit maybe you do and can get added.

Have you guys found a place to move?

I'm on my husband's cc, and it appears on CreditKarma that I have credit score similar to his. He tried to apply an individual cc for me since I have been receiving alot of mail offers to apply for one. And OMG I GOT REJECTED! TWICE! And now I have bad records of it in my bank showing that I have inquired, it takes 24 months to remove.

Our lease will be up in August, we've been looking for places without salary income checks.

Things aren't going smoothly since I came to America lol..I guess we are taking it slow now, step by step to improve our finances and stuffs.

Really want to get out of south area and move up north!

Good morning everyone, welcome to our members. Hi Roy&Channel sorry about everything. I do understand your situation. I do remember last year when I was frustrated with the systems here, my country is referred as a 3rd world country but things are so much easier and understandable there lol. All these regulations and run around is tiring.

But I do hope things work out well for you dear.

I am still not driving. My husband take me to work and back but I'm 15 minutes aways so it's not too bad.

I wanna go back home for a vacation?God know's I need it just from dealing with all these paperwork etc lol.

Not sure either, our credit score is around 750. We aren't sure why I got rejected either, I mean banks actually sent me CC offers and they rejected me, like Woot? I believe because I'm jobless.

I have been looking very hard for corporate jobs, even engaging agents to scout for me. Its sad that I have received some calls asking on my green card status and I explained to them that I am waiting for removal of conditions, no news from them after.

Hopefully I will get something soon. Just need that kind hearted soul to recruit me lol.

Don't worry Vennie, I been here for so long and I haven't manage to pass my driving yet lol.

We really want to move to Gwinnett area or Alpharetta. My husband is going through job interviews, he's trying to find a better job, but seems like the locations are still in Atlanta.

I guess Gwinnett will be the best bet cos there's asian community there and lotsa food. Eventually we want to move out of Georgia though if his job permits. We are looking to move to either NJ(my cousins are there) or Seattle. Ultimately, we really need to see where the job is.

Same plan as me lol but add on to get a job for me. :)

And I have been facing crazy neighbors lately. Partying all day and night above me, walking really loud! We filed complaints and they're making it worse. The place I'm living in, (fulton county) u wouldn't want to know, I hear gunshots randomly at night, drunkards shouting screaming, police coming every weekend. OH GOD.

I hate the weather, its so hot and suddenly its so freaking cold! I would rather have cold throughout than bipolar.

I really want to go back home for vacation too, but air tickets back home cost around 1.7-2k per pax.

Oh yes Vennie, I have a question, when you get your first job, what are the documents or application that u need to file? Such as Tax ITIN number etc? Does the hirer do everything for u? Did u file jointly or separate after getting a job?
