Filing I130 from outside the United States

My wife and I got married in December last year and have been living together in Lahore, Pakistan since then.

We want to file I130 while we continue to live together in Lahore before traveling to the states as soon as the visa arrives.

Below are my questions:

1. Is that a good idea - she filing for me from abroad while living with me?

2. Would she need to submit AoS, when she is no longer employed? What substance would such an AoS will hold? I provide consultancy services online and can work and accept payments anywhere and make way more than needed to meet poverty deadlines. Can that count?

1. Yes; there is some evidence that petitions where the USC lives abroad are processed quicker

2. She will need to sponsor you on assets or get a co-sponsor, most likely. Employment which will continue with the same employer when you move CAN count, but you being self employed plus the beneficiary, not the petitioner, may make this difficult.
