B1/B2 visa application, denied or approved_US embassy Manila

So I have this question in my mind if my dad was approved for a visa or no. He had an interview yesterday and after few question he was sent to other window to have a thumb mark and they took his passport. They told him that they will mail his passport in a week. Im puzzled coz they only checked and kept the confirmation letter and the invitation letter. They didnt asked for any other documents like bank draft and my income tax papers. I dk weather he is approved or not...

He is approved!! They usually return the applicant's passport when its denied.

Thanks Amber...I am just worried coz I really wanted my dad to visit and experience US. Im shocked at the same time coz it was a sudden application and it turns out well if in case he is really approved.
