Hi peeps,

Kay here, once again asking for your assistance. I'm filing for my fiancé who will become my husband on June 4, 2016. We are getting married in Jamaica (his home country).

Since we are getting married there and not in the US, I am not sure what forms to fill out and what procedures to follow.

Has anyone done this, where you've married in your fiancé's home country and then filed to bring him/her here? Would I adjust status?

Like I said, I'm so confused. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I got married in Jamaica. He lives there and has never been to the US. I came back here after the wedding and submit the paperwork for the I-130. Does your fiance live here?

Top Blue bar, 4th one across is guides,

You have plenty of time to get to grips with process before you can start.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If he lives in JA then you will need to file for the I130 and the whole process can take a year. I got married in JA July 2015 and my husband is still there we are going through the long process now. FYI need t be in JA 48hrs to be married not 24 like someone posted.
