Hello. I am a US Citizen living in VA, and was told to send my AOS (I-130) for my Russian wife (currently in Russia) to Chicago, IL office. Strangely enough, I received a reply from Mesquite, TX. I tried to check processing times for this office, but it is not even listed under processing times either on this website or on the USCIS website. Any idea what is going on, why they kicked my case to another office and how can I estimate the processing time for my AOS at this particular office when it is not even listed anywhere? Thank you.

When you sent the application to Chicago it went to a lockbox that just accepts applications and routes them to an appropriate Service Center for processing. Your application is being processed at the Texas Service Center.

No notices of transfer. Chicago received my I-130 application on March 31. Attorney said that the average time to the first NOA is 2 weeks. I was shocked to receive the first NOA on April 4th, or only 3 days later! It just had a case number that they assigned, said that the I-130 has been received, listed the beneficiary and said to check if all the info is correct. You are saying that they might transfer it some place else?

Hi,

Please note that if you want to investigate your processing time you should note that you are not applying for AOS but CR-1/IR-1 visa (you state that your wife is abroad). Please also update your timeline :-)

Thank you for the correction. I checked with my attorney and you are absolutely correct. I have updated my time line as well.
