I-751 filing may move overseas

Guys, I've used this forum for awhile and me and my wife are finally at the ROC stage. Her GC expires 7/30/16 and we will probably get a letter granting 1 year while in review. Unfortunately, last November I was laid off by my employer. I've been searching for work however, I'm declining jobs overseas due to my wife's Green card filing. Still living on the measly $200 a week from AZ.

I'm in search of our options. I am considering taking a 1 year gig back to Israel for work (where we first met). My work is not military or government related, I primarily support Intel semiconductor. What are the options for my wife? I've heard the green card won't last and may be classified as abandoned with that long overseas. I looked into N-470 or something like that but it said military. Can we use a re-entry permit? Looking for any advice in which way to pursue things.

Look at re-entry permits.

Maintain ties to the USA too.

Reentry permit gives her 2 years abroad and she keeps the GC.

What is exactly meant by maintain ties? Like maintain her bank account, retirement, and tax returns? Also, we could maintain her nail license and drivers license. We have no children at this time.
