This from the i-864 instructions

Item Numbers 6. - 9. Assets of the Intending Immigrant. You may use the assets of the intending immigrant
regardless of where he or she resides. The intending immigrant must provide evidence of such assets with this affidavit.
Add together Item Numbers 6. - 8. and enter the total number in Item Number 9. Form I-864A is not required to
document the intending immigrant’s assets.

But at her interview, The wife of a VJ poster was told that "that" was not true and to use the assets of the beneficiary, his wife, that they need to submit a I-864A.Has anyone else been told this?

Yeah.... lol.

So heres the thing the form says you dont need the 864a. Sometimes the Officer asks for it anyway. Theres nothing you can do except present an 864a if they want it.

If you are in that situation I would suggest presenting the packet as the instructions indicate with NO 864a. BUT I would have one in a folder on my person already prepared in case it is asked for at the interview.

I understand that, and that is what I will do. I will even send in documented proof of my hat size. But the list of what they MAY ask for is endless. I do know who I am dealing with, but myself being a business man for over 40 years as been taught a contract (in this case instructions written by the government) is the law.
