I find it amusing that everybody thinks OP might be hiding something. So assuming the worst in people is the new norm around here? I don't have any criminal activity on my phone and I don't want anybody looking at it just because they wanted too. Does anyone care about privacy anymore?

USCIS and privacy don't really go together. They see your taxes, your facebook, and they can ask about your sex life. They are also allowed to come to your home unannounced.

So with all that, who cares about a phone?

So you ok with an immigration officer looking at your SO nude pictures in front of you? Just because you are applying for immigration benefits doesn't mean you don't have any rights.

They ask about sex life but they don't ask for specifics and that's ok. A phone SHOWS private parts of my life that i don't want anybody to see. Two different things. Also taxes/facebook and whatever else they want to look at its ok.

Huh... When I was removed, once I was away from my husband (by that time he was my boyfriend) I sent him some nudes (Who never?) and the officerS saw all of that on my emails... I´ll never forget that... It was horrible, shameful, ridiculous situation... I felt completely invaded... They looking at my cellphone and looking at my face... :(

I think it was a huge disrespect... Specially because once they saw it was something very personal, they could ask me to show them my stuff and I could type in front of them all...

This is the type of stuff that pisses me off. Sorry to hear what happened to you. Few people in this very own thread are OK with that kind of behavior by USCIS.

I can understand the private parts would be an issue.

I´ll never get over it. I have the scene in my mind until today. I remember the officers faces :(

I was cooperating, I was respecting.

There was no reason for that.

I just hope no one has to go through that anymore.

For a woman, it hurts a lot.

No, I´m not.

I know that they are different.

I just wanted to say that it doesn´t matter which type of interview you are, a "little" respect don´t hurt anyone, specially if the person cooperate and act smoothly.
