i'm not a big twitter user myself so i don't follow their terms of service but i know i've seen much worse. i don't know about shutting down hashtags or anything like that. to me, basing my opinion on the op only, it seems as if breitbart is trying to make the tweets more than what they were. was banks actually trying to organize sexual violence towards sarah palin? wouldn't that involve banks saying something like.."prize for the first person who rapes palin, pics or it didn't happen" i mean breitbart is all "she actually had her friends in alaska try to make a voodoo doll of sarah. A VOODOO DOLL. if i didn't know better, i'd think this whole thing was an onion piece.

apple playing politics? no way - say it ain't so. corporate money has personhood - of course they're going to play politics. similarly, hillary can say she'll be tough on wallstreet out of one side of her mouth while using the other side of her mouth to keep the wallstreet money coming her way.

The actual tweets:

“Sarah Palin needs to have her hair shaved off to a buzz cut, get headf---ed by a big veiny, ashy, black d--k then be locked in a cupboard,”

“Hideous. At least suk a n---a d--k or summ’ before you start talking s--t about ‘black people willingly accepting slavery’. Least she can do,”

“Honestly… Let’s find the biggest burliest blackest Negros and let them run a train on her. Film it and put it on worldstar,”

Twitters Policies on offensive / abusive tweets:

  • Violent threats (direct or indirect): You may not make threats of violence or promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism.
  • Harassment: You may not incite or engage in the targeted abuse or harassment of others. Some of the factors that we may consider when evaluating abusive behavior include:
    • if a primary purpose of the reported account is to harass or send abusive messages to others;
    • if the reported behavior is one-sided or includes threats;
    • if the reported account is inciting others to harass another account; and
    • if the reported account is sending harassing messages to an account from multiple accounts.
  • Hateful conduct: You may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or disease. We also do not allow accounts whose primary purpose is inciting harm towards others on the basis of these categories.

She wasn't harassing, she made comments. If she continously did it everyday it would qualify. No sys of violence were incited and there were no threats. Sorry, the language is vulgar, but it doesnt qualify.

Wanting Palin to engage in sexual conduct with black men doesnt qualify as hateful. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

i'm sorry, we'll just have to disagree here..i don't read any of that as even an indirect threat. now, if we were talking about two non-famous people, that would be different. did palin really say that black people willing accepted slavery? is that what prompted the backlash from banks?

That's great that you think its funny and that she deserves this type of treatment. Pretend your setting precedent for all that follow.

The watermark all the social justice warriors fought for: Could the target of the tweets reasonably feel harassed or threatened.

Well?

Yeah, reverse the roles and every person on the left here would be going insane. Bias wins.

it's not treatment, it's free speech. it's twitter. if you're a public figure, as palin unfortunately is, you have to be a bit more discerning in what to get worked up over. i've heard some of palin's speeches, she should expect backlash - she's a pretty hateful individual herself..although she comes of more of an idiot than a hatemonger. but whatever, palin says she's going to sue. let her sue! what's the big deal?

Yeah, reverse the roles and every person on the left here would be going insane. Bias wins.

it doesn't even make sense if you reverse the roles. why would sarah palin flip out on a rapper for saying black people were cool with slavery?

She can feel harassed doesn't mean she was. People with immigrant spouses should feel harassed.

"

Knowing that Trump won on that issue, it should empower you to go ahead and ask the candidates, 'What the heck are you thinking, candidates? What are you thinking when you're going ahead and actually asking for more immigrants, illegal immigrants, welcoming them in, even inducing and seducing immigrants with gift baskets of teddy bears and soccer balls?' " Palin said in a speech at the Republican Party Presidential Dinner, according to the Washington Examiner."

That right there!

ssoooooo, banks went off on palin for remarks that palin never even made? oh lord. lol.

Thing is -- Palin NEVER said such a thing. Banks mistook a satirical article for a legitimate news report, and Palin had to remind Banks she was DUPED, saying, "You're obviously not exercising enough intelligence to acknowledge you've been sucked into believing some fake interview."
