Name not on the list of interview

I received a mail from Lagos embassy to go ahead and pay my visa fee, then followed and instruction to fill out the ds-160 form, print and book for my interview appointment. I did all of that and got April 7, 2016 as my interview date. On the day, l got tothe embassy and they checked the names on a list and the system, l was told my name is not found and l cant have my interview. That l should wait for an email to schedule my appointment. I called the customer care and they confirm my appointment. I was deprived of having my interview. What do l do and whats the way forward

Try the nigerian sub forum , maybe someone with the above experience will chime in . In the interim send a detailed email to the consulate explaining your last experience . Print out all email correspondence between your self and consulate regarding this issue. This will help explain your non attendance at the last interview to the CO . Hope it gets resolved . All the best in your journey

You need to email the embassy not cal customer care. In your Subject line you put your case# and Interview date. They usually respond within 2 days

This also happened to my husband, embassy said he was not on list dispite him having his interview letter. Then they said his package never areived from NVC so they need to reschedule and gave him a phone # to call and took his phone # and email!!! Im so sorry I know how depressing it can feel.

What we did was called NVC and had them trace his package to ensure Embassy recieved it. We then both wrote emails to embassy inquiring if there is anything more we can do to help speed up the process as we kept an exact copy of everything sent incase of lost in transit. My husband also called back the phone # provided to him at the embassy inquiring on any updates. His calls were responded with the normal just please check your email for a rescheduled interview.

My NVC trace request was never followed up by a supervisor as promised so I felt they were unhelpful... We never heard from NVC again! However I would like to think making them aware embassy claims to not have our package did help in some small way even though they never followed up with us. But finally it was the second email to Embassy that was replied within a week with a rescheduled interview date that was exactly 21 days from his initial scheduled interview.

So my advice is to email and call both NVC and embassy. Try to confirm date your package was sent and ask for a trace if embassy is claiming they dont have it. Good luck and hopefully you will be notified in a week with a new date as we were!

Thanks, l received a mail from support@ustraveldocs.com requesting for a proof of mail from the US Embassy informing me that l should proceed to schedule an appointment. I forwarded the thread mails. Hoping a quick response from them

The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos is ready to begin final processing of your approved K1 visa petition. Kindly request your fiancée (the applicant) to visit any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC in Nigeria to pay the K1 visa processing fee of $265; and after that, follow the instructions for fiancé/fiancée visa applicants attached to this email.

As required by law, we have also attached a copy of the USCIS pamphlet "Information on the Legal Rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the United States and Facts about Immigrating on a Marriage-Based Visa." The pamphlet is sent to all applicants in this visa category.

Please note that no applicant will be allowed into the Consulate Visa Hall without the confirmation (Barcode) page of Form DS-160 completed online and a valid medical examination report.
