I just called they said they found it weird that the consulate hasn't gotten in contact with me and that they would take the case to a higher level, and they would send an email to find out what's going on with my case. That I should expect an email in 1 or 2 days.... I feel like is BS I'm so annoyed that they BS people in that way every time you call.

Received an email from the Dominican consulate requesting additional documents, my ceac was updated again today and although I am delighted they decided to get back to me.... I know this is just a small step to what is yet to come, my husband will drop off the documents tomorrow, however I heard that it may be a good idea for him to give in his passport even though they didn't technically ask for him to drop it off, you guys think my husband should?

Still on AP,thanks Ken I hope it'll be faster then that :( it really sucks like why did the consule officer say it was going to take a week ... I have no other choice but to wait, next Monday it'll be a month , I'll call and send emails... I checked ceac website and it's been updated the date had been changed 3 times from march21 , April 8th and April 12th does that mean anything ?

People with no criminal records gets put in AP. Of course the consulars have to make sure they're not bringing any criminal in this country because I'm sureAmerica has enough criminals already. Just hold one because there are 1000 people who visit that embassy every week same as every other embassy. It will get to your turn. Pray nothing negative comes up during their investigation and your husband will be on his way. Good luck.

hey dillygoose.... It's been 30days since they took the documents and the passport and still on AP... I thought it would be sooner, I emailed two weeks ago and they said I have to wait 60days since the last documents and passport were received.... This is the email that I got :

Thank you for your message. Please be advised that we received the documents. However, the cases are processed in the order in which they are received. As soon as the case is processed and passed to an officer for final review, the applicant will be inform of the steps that follow. However, due to heavy volume, there may be delays in processing the documents received.

If we can be of further assistance dont hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

I am super frustrated ! Here's a quick update, still under AP my case has been touched since July 28... It was being touched weekly then it stopped. So next Monday marks 60 days since the documents were submitted with Passport. So I emailed consulate today and asked them what's next, specifically asked them if I have to make a congressional inquiry. They anwsered me in less then 15 minutes with this

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your message . The immigrant visa application of Mr. Peña is still undergoing administrative processing in order to verify his qualifications for this visa. Administrative processing often lasts about 90 days, but in some instances, it can take several months or significantly longer.

We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to re-unite families. Nonetheless, the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing. While we cannot predict when the processing of the visa for the applicant will be completed, please be assured that the Department of State, including the Embassy, is aware of your concern. We will do all we can to see that the visa is adjudicated as soon as his qualifications have been verified.

As soon as this process is finished, we will contact the Mr. Peña.

We hope this information is helpful, and we regret that our response cannot be more substantive at this time.

If we can be of further assistance dont hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

MC

Wow, at least your consulate responds to your inquiry and concerns. I'm impressed that they respond to you in such a manner. Should make you feel good knowing they acknowledge your strife and seem to care. We didn't get that at all.

I know how hard the waiting can be. Keep faith and know in time God's will be done. Soon you will be with your husband. All these days gone by will seem like a flash. I will be praying for issued soon! Good Luck!
