1st paragraph. ...yeah Bernie feels the same..he's getting old-lol.

2nd. You appear not to be interested in education for education's sake alone...a very practical and non-elitist attitude. For the majority this maybe ok, however it would lead to a very dull world indeed imo.

But I respect your PoV. Cheers.

It's not that I don't think people should be educated, so I don't see how it would lead to a dull world. I just think when you're hiring someone you need to look at the bigger picture. BTW this would help minorities alot if they could not manage to go to college for whatever reason but have a good set of skills otherwise. You are right about the non elitist thing. We are both very casual people...if you see my current profile pic that was actually taken at our wedding...this is as dressed up as we get, you will never see me in a suit or a tie, or my wife in a dress. Back when I would actually still work for other people I always said I will never work for a place that would make me do that. We just like to do things differently I guess that's why we're perfect for each other.

Yep. So it comes down to gut instinct ...kinda like dating...you get promised the world ...who will deliver and who has your best interests at heart...a gamble.

Thing is some people do think Sanders is different...I've said it all along they're all the same #######.

You've caught me at a bad time...I'm pissed off with several people right now.. But.

Paragraph 1. You are talking about the work world. Do you want people to be educated just so that can fulfill a particular job? I wouldn't want to know someone in my personal life who can only talk about their job.

You married your wife in a wetsuit with the shark in attendance????

Paragraph 2. Who cares what other people think. Join the bums in the park you mentioned and smoke some weed, or start a cult if you hope to change the world.

No I didn't say all I want them to know is what they need to fulfill a job. But those are two extremes - what they are doing right now is one extreme, teaching people completely useless stuff, and teaching them nothing but one subject would be another. There needs to be a middle ground found. But to start with why should it be college's job to teach someone about the world? It doesn't seem like most of them are getting it anyway. Just look at college kids today.

I don't have cookies soo..just the seaworld pic here.

True about the middle ground, ...youngsters these days, I tell ya . Perhaps I am an elitist but I think some schools should provide the opportunity for students to explore different possibilities, and I don't think the arts or non-practical sciences should face cuts from the government ....if you aren't interested just go to a vocational school-no problem.

That is the pic.

I will ask my wife tomorrow again specifically what it is they are teaching them I just remember talking to her about it and it sounding quite ridiculous for nurses.

A cute couple-but it's not your avatar, right?

Yes, nursing is a vocation, so no need to take philosophy as well lol. As long as the nurse can calculate my medication incorrectly I'm a happy bunny;)
