Our i601A waiver application(husband is still here in U.S. with me) was mailed out from our lawyer's office on February 28th, 2016. Which was about 6 weeks ago.....

We still have not received the letter from USCIS that they received the letter with our case number, etc. I noticed some other people got the letter that they received it by the same week, or the next week..... Is that unusual that we still have received nothing after 6 weeks?? Anything that I can do like call USCIS to find out whats up?? :clock:

I'm not sure... my lawyer did everything.

That doesn't make sense. How did you pay the waiver fee? Did you write a check to US Department of Homeland Security? Did you get a money order and give it to your lawyer?

Did the lawyer send with tracking?

Do you have a lawyer, for real, a licensed attorney?

You can't just call USCIS with no case number. They don't confirm receipt. Imagine the thousands of applications they receive daily. The person who answers the phone is someone in a customer service call center. They don't have anything to do with the packages received or issuing receipts (NOA1).

Paid the lawyer in cash. They then made a check and took care of everything.

Our lawyer is very reputable (apparently) and has over 20+ years experience. Yes, he is licensed.

I called USCIS on Thurs and they said that since we sent our application back in February, they should have received it by now, but they have not. (they told me i should have received a letter of receipt w/ case number within 10 days) They searched our name and found our approved I-130 case without the case number, and nothing for our i-601a application.

So i called my lawyer and the assistant answered. she said that they cashed the check 2 weeks ago, and they like to say that it takes 10 days to receive receipt, but she has clients that wait 4-8 weeks is a more accurate timeline. she said to wait 2 more weeks and if we still don't get anything we will resubmit the paperwork. I am so frustrated!!
