I was listening to a commentator on bbc world news and if I remember correctly he said unlike casinos, for example, the real estate market isn't really regulated. If you put up the cash for a multimillion dollar property questions aren't asked. However this will be (or has recently) changed in New York. For properties over x million dollars , purchasers finances will be called more into question.

I found the second story about Stanford possibly bringing back the history of Western Civilization classes 25 years after Jesse Jackson was able to get them removed an interesting story.. There is always a backlash after any backlash.
