Thank you everyone for the comfort. Good to know that I'm not the only person that's experiencing this - as I was well aware but nice to hear it in person. I just do not understand in which order they process the files. It seems so obscure that they will file some from Jan some from Feb and even before that. Weird!!!

I think it is very safe to say that we all felt like that (except the ones that got theirs in a month, lucky devils....). I kept seeing people filed after me getting their NOA2s and NVCs and I was still waiting for my NOA2. Three months it was. Here is that part of my timeline:

Mailed: G-1145, I-129F, G-325A 10/20/15 EST/GMT-5 Package delivered in Texas 10/23/15 Case received / NOA1 - USCIS California Service Center 10/28/15 email received 28th NOA1 paper copy 11/02/15 TOUCHED 01/04/16 called a few times since late Nov, this time spoke to a T2, last touched Dec 8 and is in for background checks; later found were all lies from them trying to get me off phone NOA2 emailed 01/15/16 Date Package Received By NVC 01/22/16 NOA2 paper copy 01/25/16

Yes, I know how anxious and stressed it is. I can tell you 99.97% of the people here are quite comforting in just sharing their experiences. I see other people having hard times and makes me feel bad how this world treats some people. You poor humans....

Stay strong, keep praying, and keep working on gathering all your stuff for future processes. Better sooner to be prepared than later.

Well no, as I stated above I am well aware of the 5 month waiting estimate. However my moan was over the fact that some people are getting processed a lot faster than us - in fact A LOT of filers are being approved before us. But I can see now that it's an across the board thing. Not just us. Which again I wasn't in denial over - just wanted some more information into how they process things etc...

This website is a brilliant source of reference for the application processes and has been a blessing. I came *this* close to applying through a lawyer (RapidVisa) but weeks of analysing the guides and threads gave me and mine the confidence to handle the application ourselves.

There is one tiny trap that I found myself in though: I based all my expectations on the facts given by the USCIS and written in the guides on here, stating it takes an average of 5 months for an approval to come through. However, after getting involved with active petitions and seeing how quickly the turnaround is for some people (even those who applied weeks after I did) it raised my hopes of a much speedier resolution and the thought of waiting 5 months all but vanished.

Of course, that was a mistake because now I have to resign myself to a long wait when I had already accepted it before joining the forum.

People self-reporting here are a small section of total filers. Keep that in mind, too. Also someone whose process is moving quickly may be more likely to post online because they're moving along and are eager to get it done. Its not like you see an accurate cross-section of all applicants on here.

True that. I also just posted about filed being "touched" I don't really get how I would know if mines has been and if it's relevant to anything?

Thank you so much for your lovely words. You are ever so kind. I just wanted to enquire ... There seems to be like 10 day gaps in between getting an email notification and a paper NOA. Is it worth while signing up to email reports etc?

Thank you!

I only recently came across this page! We filed ours trough rapid visa and now I wish we hadn't. Tbh they did help out at the start but now they just seem useless. Kinda thing where they deliver an amazing service then disappear... Sucks! Seems we are pretty close in timings and you're in the UK. Let's keep in touch about timings etc or tips!! Would be awesome to be in a very similar situation to someone.

I noticed you finally got your NOA2, OP. Congratulations! We're still waiting to hear anything with a NOA1 on January 5. I guess there's always someone else who is worse off than yourself. :D

Not texas service center. Your case was send to texas lockbox and send directly to cali ....

Regarding where your petition goes: All cases are sent to the Texas Lockbox. Please note this is not the same thing as a Service Center.

You are not transferred. The Lockbox opens the petition puts it in a folder and sends it to your appropriate Service Center. For reference TSC has not handled any further cases since spring 2015. CSC is the sole Service Center handling K1 cases.

A true transfer is when you receive an NOA1 telling the applicant they are at one Service Center, and then a second notification telling them they have been moved to another Service Center.

CSC is fast when you compare it to 2014-2015 TSC. Please be aware they now handle all cases. This additional burden most likely puts added workload. That does not mean you are waiting over the USCIS's estimated process time of 5-6 months. If your definition of 'slowly' is 60-90 day as average, you need to work on a new definition or study the wait people endured at TSC.

Being Touched means someone picked up your file and may have looked at it. But it also means very little at all. They could have just moved it from a bin to a box. Or took a stack of files, intended to open it, but got too busy playing Candy Crush. The USCIS's website back in 2014 looked and worked a lot different than it does now. It was more informative. Knowing you have been 'Touched' since 2015 usually doesn't happen now, and if it does as I said, means about nothing. At some point there was either a security issue with the USCIS or enormous problems with updating to a new website format. Everyone back then had a status that said Touched. It actually didn't mean anyone looked at your file. It just meant your file got moved about in the database. The OP was most likely Touched, when her case was entered into the system. It means nothing else but that.

In figuring out how long you've been waiting: also do not count weekends or holidays. Or any days of specific religious holiday significance a worker may reserve the right to be off of work for - such as Passover.
