So i just got my petition approved today. Im a little bit confused on what to do for the next steps. I know i have to call nvc after a couple weeks. What happens after i get my MNL number? Fill out the ds-160, have my fiance pay the application fee, fill out affidavit form. Im a little unclear on after that. Do i set up a medical exam appointment and interview appointment? Any reply would be helpful. My fiance is in the Philippines

Sure you can manage your schedule as you please.

What do you mean by can you wait that long? it depends on you how you when you will schedule medical and interview.

As soon as you have your MNL number (you can start calling NVC after 2 weeks) you can proceed with medical and interview. If all goes well, you can finish everything within a month from medical date. We finished our medical and interview within 3 weeks, with Christmas holidays in between and visa on hand within a month from medical. So it's all on you how you manage your time.

Ahh okay thats good then. So 3 weeks after the medical you had your interview? I figured id go there a few days before her interview with all of the paperwork so i dont have to send them. She doesnt need them till the interview anyway right? Or does she have to mail something to the embassy?

Once you have your MNL # you pay the visa fee at BPI, after the payment is recorded (12-24 hrs) you can schedule the interview, complete the medical (no appointment), you send an original I-134 along with copies of your most recent tax return and w2.

Actually it was around 10 working days after our medical, we have long holidays during Christmas. With no problems on the results, medical is just 2 days.

You need to schedule your interview and do medical one week to 2 weeks before that.

Yes, you can hand carry your docs, requirements will be presented during the interview not mailed in advance.

Perfect. Thank you. Last questions. Is there a physical form for the MNL number? If so is it needed and does the petitioner get it in the mail?

Yes there is an actual letter from NVC that the petitioner will get with the MNL#

So you dont need an appointment for the medical?

Medical is first come - first served.

But DON'T bother arriving hours early, in fact I suggest to arrive between 9-11AM and avoid the waiting outside.

I got one from US Embassy Manila by mail but that was 2 months after our NOA2 date, I am the beneficiary. Some beneficiary don't receive it due to their locality in the Philippines. I called NVC 3 weeks after NOA 2, i got our MNL number from the first call. Then I tract it at CEAC and print that for my reference. Most don't wait on the letter.

My fiance didn't received anything with the MNL number from NVC.

As for the medical, your fiancee should register on-line on the SLEC website, print that form and just walk-in on her preferred date. No appointment required.

I have my Medical experience on my blog as well.
