I met my wife on an internet dating website as I'm sure many of you here have done. My wife is from Peru. When we were in the "just getting to know each other" stage I was unaware of a couple of things about Peru as well as South and Central America. One thing being how much women in those countries like American or English men. I can tell you from experience, when I'm there I get called chico guapo all the time, women selling things on the street tell my wife this every time I'm in Peru. Believe me I'm not trying to toot my horn here, I know I am not great looking, not horrible either, just average. But none the less this happens every time I visit Peru. This happens because of two reasons 1) In Peru and I imagine in other Latin American countries it's the same, everyone has tan skin and black hair, and I do mean EVERYBODY(unless you go to the really touristic areas). I went to a concert with my wife in Peru, we were on the second floor and I looked down at the crowd and I saw nothing but black hear. So when someone with white skin shows up its a change from what is the normal, then if the guy has blonde hair and blue eyes on top of that it's something so completely new for them and its an attraction. However this doesn't mean that Latin women will fall in love and want to merry any white man, but they are attracted them.

The second thing that makes Latin women seek out American or European men is because of the way that many Latin men treat women there. Many Latin men have the machista attitude, they feel that they are above the women. Many of them cheat on their wives or girlfriends and then think that the wife or girlfriend should be ok with it and just except it, here comes the crazy part, many of the women actually do accept it and will stay with the man. In the old days the women were forced to accept this because the "man pool" was limited to their immediate area, but now with technology it's nothing for someone from Peru to become friends with someone from the US. My wife's ex boyfriend treated her horribly, he cheated on her 2 times that she knows of and she still accepted him because that is what she was brought up to believe. Her father cheated on her mother more then once and yet her mother stayed with him.

On the flip side of this the men from the US and Europe have a reputation for being more kind and considerate, some are stay at home dads, many of us cook and clean and do the things that were deemed "women's work" by the Machista men.

I would just like to say that what I have written here in no way means that EVERY Latino man is like this, I have met men in Peru who are good family men and treat their wives/girlfriends well. I only wanted to explain how many of the men in Latin American are from the point of view of someone who has seen it first hand and from my wife who has lived with it most of her life.

Unfortunately this is true, BUT... it´s not at the same time...

Every WOMAN (not girls, because in Brazil, girls look at American men as ugly and not that good on the bed lol - I used to be a girl in Brazil, so I can say that this are the toughts about american men) has a reason to choose or decide to be with a foreigner.

I know a bunch of younger women that they are extremely hot (not so intelligent sometimes lol), smart, wealthy and I realized that they are not in the mood to have a relationship with any guy, it doesn´t matter from where he is, only because they want to be free! They don´t want kids in the future, they want to build their career and travel arround the world. And if they want a relationship, they right over take the most beautiful, rich and intelligent guys. They don´t look for foreigners, and you know why?

Because, the extremely hot, girls who look for these foreigners, they have nothing to loose! They probably come from a poor family and they want to make a bigger step in their life´s, they can´t see themselves getting a better life with their own career. They don´t want to study, they want to simply get a better life without any kind of hardship and they are quite sure that their sex can be the best of the world. It makes me ashamed... I´m brazilian and I´m a woman

But there are the interesting cases: women who are sick and tired of the "latino way to be" from the locals, where if they cheat, they are more masculin than others (My case lol)... Women who are career driven and latino men don´t accept it (Meeeeeee lol)... Women who enjoy other cultures and know a lot about it, women who simply fall in love and it´s just a foreigner (lol), religious difficulty to find a partner (Meeee) and it includes tradition and family values, women who got tired to be the men slaves (latino men don´t help with anything... anything... they make their wife´s slaves)...

Well, there are enough reasons for us women look for a foreigner...

I just wanted to remind you guys about one thing: There are WOMEN and GIRLS... and there is a huge thing about how they deal with al of it.

They liberate men psychologically and set them free from insecurity. There is a deeper psychological issue here that is felt by men but not easy to define and put into words. You see, when American males date foreign women, for the first time in their life, they actually feel valued and appreciated for what they are (isn't that what we all want?). This is something guys can't experience in America, where virtually everyone is insecure and trying to mask it, because they do not feel accepted for what they are. This is the essence of true confidence - feeling appreciated and accepted for what you are, not the pseudo fake confidence that is often referred to in West Coast America, and has to be constantly "pumped up" artificially. Thus, there is a huge psychological mental health benefit that foreign women bring as well, which liberates men and sets them free from the constant feeling of insecurity they've had their whole lives in America.

Strangely enough, being overseas for such a long time, I can see why the person who wrote this thinks this way. It's a common misconception, but one that holds a tad bit of water since Western women are held to a different standard than their overseas counterparts.

Women here are fighting for their equal rights and it seems that this country can't differentiate between that and treating a lady like one. We think that equal pay/treatment= forgoing being a gentleman. Also, men tend to forget that while we want a 10 on the beauty scale, we want our women to accept us as 3's. I've seen men complain about the lack of good American women but don't know the first thing about courtship. Just like the OP talking about the lack of emotional commitment he was getting from American women he just wanted to sleep with and nothing more. What do you expect when you've already expressed you want nothing more than a romp in the hay?

Dudes like this are typically the ones who have think they're "entitled" to having a beautiful woman just on GP, rather than put in the work to build something with a woman of substance. That's why they run overseas and think it's an upgrade. Not understanding if you put in the time and legwork here in their own backyard, they can have the exact same thing.
