Verification of inclusion of a dependent in filling of form I-751

Hi, I'm going to book a flightticket to china. But there is something that I'm not sure about. My 2-year green card expired last December, and I'm currently applying for 10-year green card. And I got this plain white letter that says "This is to verify that you are included as a dependent in the request for removal of conditions filed by the ....You may travel outside the united states and return during this one year period upon presentation of both your alien registration receipt card and this verification. " Would I be able to go back to US with my expired green card and this letter.

That is the intent of the plain vanilla dependent letter. However, I have to say, the extension letter that we got for my stepson, from USCIS, looked pretty bush league. Anybody with a cheap stamp set, and an old dot matrix printer could have produced the cheap, unofficial-looking letter that he got from USCIS.
