What are the typical next steps / time frames after you see online your waiver is approved?

The applicant is in Bangkok Thailand and originally denied just over a year ago. I have read some people say they just need to mail in updated documents but others have to go back for another interview with updated documents. Assuming this varies by consulate but wondering if anyone can share more.

Will they ask us to resubmit new Police Report, Medical as well as Financial?

We just received online confirmation of approval today after just over 8 months since they accepted the waiver.

THANKS for sharing any info you have.

If you go back through pages of the I-601 waiver updates thread you can read posts of others who were approved and what their steps were.

It's a bit different for each consulate. Some interview again some just send in updated documents. I prepared an updated financial support form just in case.

Once your waiver is approved, USCIS notifies the embassy and the embassy in turn contacts the beneficiary to give next instructions.

Thanks LionessDeon. I kind of got that impression on what I was seeing (consulate's vary). Pretty sure Bangkok will require another interview. Was trying to search the thread for anyone who has done a waiver there but the ones I found were older and the posters have not been on a long time and/or were before they started processing the waivers centrally here in the US.

I am just hoping they don't ask for financials. My taxes are a bit complicated and just finishing working on getting 2015s in and planned on filing an extention again this year for those due in 2016 but guess I will figure a way to get them in now too since I just don't want to leave the door open for any other issues.

Police report is fairly easy to obtain in Thailand but they do want the Immigration Case Number if for immigration. I assume this will not change from last time. But if I am not mistaken, she can't get another physical until the embassy sends the info to her requesting it.

Just hoping this goes quick but Bangkok is not known for doing this quick.

I have not seen any recent waivers out of Thailand either here or on the spread sheet st immigrate2us. Yes the embassy will notify when to complete new updated medical exam. The case number will remain the same. I was more referring to the I-134 (K1) affidavit of support not taxes. If yours are not filed then that can be stated at interview that there has been an extension.

Hello JohnThailandJohn,

Did you hear from the consulate yet?

My I601 waiver was approved (checked it online) on April 23rd 2016 and until todays date I havent gotten any notice from the USCIC office or the US Consulate.

How long did it take you to get a notice from them?

Thanks

The applicant and your lawyer will get notice from USCIS. How quickly the consulate responds and how they respond will depend on the consulate. We heard from the consulate to send updated documents in about 3 or 4 weeks.
