We've read about getting a stamp in his passport from USCIS, but giving the timing of his trip it seems unlikely he could get an sppointment in time.

Any advice would be helpful. Does anyone have experience traveling outside the U.S. after you I-751 is approved but before receiving your new card? Thanks in advance for any responses!

Isha, so did your husband traveled with out the 551 stamp? did he have issues. I am in the same situation. I got my 751 approval today :) but i have business travel on Friday. I don't know what to do. The one year extension letter is still within the year but I am worried since the letter I received today says "You should not travel outside the U.S" and there are no InfoPass appointments available. Any insight would be appreciated!

I’m on a similar situation... I have submitted my I-751 package this September and will be traveling to Ireland for 12 months. My extension letter will be expired by then and I will not have the 10 year permanent green card. 

 

But can I not enter back to US with my Turkish passport that has a 10 year tourist visa? Are they gonna realize that I was in the process of getting a 10 year green card but then I was away for a year?
