Mexico Interview Locations?

A few people and one lawyer whom I did not like at all are telling me that for Mexico, that Ciudad Juárez is the only place that is authorized to do visa interviews.

My wife is in Tijuana and I am in Los Angeles about 2 hours north. We have a nice embassy in Tijuana and Ciudad Juárez is a scary place, no? (yeah, Tijuana is such a beautiful and safe Garden of Eden too hahaha ) Others have told me that is BS and the Tijuana embassy will do the interview. Like they taught me on Sessame Street... Tijuana is "near", Ciudad Juárez is "far".

Question: Are we going to need to get our butts all the way to Ciudad Juárez for the interview when the time comes? Or will it be in Tijuana?

you will have toget your 'nalgas' over to cd juarez, stand in line with everyone else.

a pain? sure. for just about everyone in mexico. my wife lived in guadalajra where there is too a perfectly nice US consulate, but did they let us interview thre? nooooo. Imagine coming from Chiapas or Veracruz? :wacko:

Well... thanks :-) Trust me I am used to lots of strange things explained by nothing more than "well, that's Mexico" But this is the US Gov now making me think "Aye que loco!" hahaha I dont think I'll be making that as a road trip.

Yeah, the travel is a pain, but don`t worry too much- Juarez isn`t as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. And actually, the area around the consulate is pretty well secured. Just don`t get crazy and line up on the street in the middle of the night thinking you`ll be first in and first out.

I'm afraid from now on you'll need to get used to hear "well, that's US Immigration". You'll be surprised that they can be just as bad as the mexican "burrocracia" :yes:

BTW, Yep Juarez will be for you guys. I lived in Reynosa (bordertown with an Embassy nearby) and had to go all the way to CDJ too.
