Hey guys, I was about to submit my I-751 form to remove conditions on my residency. Received green card 2 years ago.....

And while I was on USCIS website I found this page on change in address for aliens. it said u have to report change in address within 10 days of moving anywhere within US. and i had no clue about this rule. Now i am filling my I-751 from new address where i moved 7 months ago!

Will there be an issue?

P.S.- i changed my address online today

no, it shouldn't be an issue. most people don't realize they need to report a change of address and i haven't seen anyone get into any trouble because they didn't report it.

Yes...USCIS will show up on your doorstep, shake their collective fingers at you and say "naughty naughty" and give you a slap on the wrist. Just joking...happy Monday ?

This was pretty funny :) hahaha

I am sending my lease agreement which started last year as one of the evidences and changed address online today.. still no issues right?? *crossing my fingers*

I never heard of it being a problem for anyone. Now not changing it when they apply for something new like ROC has been a problem when the old address gets the mail instead of the new one, because they didn't change their official address.

Yes, permanent residents should report their address change to the USCIS.

Any non-citizen resident here is supposed to inform USCIS of a change of address within 10 days.

If I'm not mistaken, this rule is somewhere in the "welcome to America" or whatever the new green card holder booklet is...apparently not many people actually read this!

LPRs change the address via AR-11 on USCIS website. Their sponsor if they change the address must use I-865 form, complete it and sign it and mail it in. Sponsor will get a confirmation of address change in mail.
