So I'm trying to meet the 125% poverty level for (2), and I'm short by about $5820.00 a year. I just started a online business recently as of a few days ago, and I was curious if I could earn say $500.00 per month if I could somehow use this to show that I am within the 125% poverty level without having to wait until taxes are filed next year?

Many thanks

people have been sent rfes for making just above poverty line or for making a salary above for a short period of time (ie 6 months) You can try, but it seems to be the norm.

Whats a rfes? Is that request for proof/evidence? I was hoping along the lines of 3-6 months.

You wouldn't be able to use any of that income until you file 2016 taxes.

Hi Everyone,

I am little confused and need some help.

I read on the US Embassy Islamabad that ‘’ Household size includes everyone living in the sponsor’s house, even if they are independent’’

My Fiancée has shown that she lives with her parents and they are 9 in total living in the same house, 7 sibling and parents.

Does she need meet 9 Household size US Poverty Threshold?

My fiancée is self-employed and is planning to go for co-sponsor to be on the safe side.

Which form (I-134 or I-186) does the co-sponsor needs to fill in and do they only need to make up for the shortfall?

Why is it unlikely, can I show sales or bank statements showing income or sales??

I haven't had any success getting a co-sponsor and i've asked everyone I know...

Yes, however, as stated, Self Employed folks have different document requirements. So some research concerning that subject.

This is also to meet the poverty level for househould size of 2 (125% $20,180.00)

So, at my job we have two teams, A team and B team. Both earn commission of 10% of all sales and both earn a salary of $8.00 per hour at the end of each pay week you get the greater of the two whichever is greater. So if you earn enough to meet commssion then you get 10% of your sales total otherwise you take home $320.00. The difference is that its very difficult to earn commission on B Team, while its very easy to earn commission on A Team. I'm about to move to A team, and earn more money. Salary is a cool $15,360.00 a year... but with commission you have the potential to earn anywhere from $20,000 - $45,000.00 a year and fairly consistently too. I have been working at my job for 4 months now.

So when I start earning commission do I need to show earnings for commission up to 3 months, a whole year, or what?

I mean I want to show consistency in earning with my commission so I'll use my pay stubs, but how many are required and how long must I earn commission before filing my K-1 case?

hi

you don't need the affidavit of support for now, the i134 plus taxes are needed at the interview, so by the time your fiancé has the interview, it will be next year probably

Yes we do, because it'll have been 2 years since we met. Then I must fly back over there again and thats a lot of money. So I cannot wait until next year at all. I am looking at how I can get this done now.

hi

the affidavit of support is not needed to file the k1 visa. You are confused on how the process works, read the guides

the i134 is needed at the interview, so you can go ahead and file now, the requirement is having met in person before you file the petition during the last 2 years. now if you haven't seen each other after 2 years, then you will have to see each other before you file the K1

the interview will take more than 6 months, so it will be or by the end of the year or next year, so you have time to get enough paystubs

how much was your income in 2015? because you will need to show that taxes were above poverty guidelines

I have only worked my first job for 4 months. I'm not confused on how the process works. My girlfriend doesn't want me to file until I can meet 125% of the poverty level, there is no point in filing the K-1 Visa without meeting the 125% poverty level. Even if I did file it, I need to be able to do the 134 so that she can come over in the next 4-5 months, she won't allow me to file our case without me meeting the 125% poverty level. I already have pay stubs for the 4 months I have worked, but I don't have any paystubs for the commission based earnings yet, my question was if I showed paystubs for 3 months with commission would they understand that it is stable income, and would easily put me over the poverty level.

If you're wanting to file soon, since it sounds like you're getting close to the 2 year mark of when you last met in person, it sounds like you'll need a co sponsor. By the time of the interview (when you need to present the I 134) you may make enough, but it's so recent the embassy may not accept it. Get a co sponsor lined up just in case if you're wanting to file ASAP. BTW, having your girlfriend here in 4-5 months is a bit aggressive...if everything goes like clockwork it may happen, but be prepared for it to take longer. What country is your girlfriend in? Some aren't very accepting of cosponsors for the K1.
