Yeah it'll be that way all places but still don't believe it's the cheapest choice for all shopping when they don't have that much money. (And only are them or even them + 2 kids)

Yeah, I'd definitely add Kroger to the mix (since according to that link NLR, I believe, posted there's a Kroger in OP's area) and see what's cheaper there, because some things will definitely be cheaper.

Yes they may have less variety of fruits and veggies but I always found each place lacks something.

So I do see how ppl would do all their shopping in one spot. It wouldn't work for my family though and we are lucky we have a number of stores in close range of each other.

Just the two of them probably makes it easier to shop there. One stop and they are done.

I wish I had a Trader Joe's I keep hearing about them.

Whole foods around here is not where you go to save money. Way over priced and they really don't carry much.

A whole bunch pop up when I look for them (concentrated around Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio), the closest one being about 20 miles from Denton, TX where OP seems to be. The closest one to us in WV is over a 100 miles sadly.

The "Greek Yogurt" they have here is just drained yogurt. That makes it thicker. You can get that and add a little milk to it. Also you can make yogurt yourself with a yogurt-maker, if you can find one.

We shop at Kroger for most 'staple' items like flour, eggs, meats, and sign up for their card and they'll send you good coupons every couple of months.

I will go to Trader Joe's for things like cheeses veggies. The vegetables are less expensive there, too, many times; just stay away from the pre-packaged or pre-made frozen things; those are really expensive, and that's where I think they make their money (TJ's).

Walmart preys on people that don't make much money and I try hard not to ever shop there. Their employees are really taken advantage of, too, and not paid well; considering the huge amount of profit they make, it makes me mad, so I stay away.

When i'm there I find the grocery store cheaper then Walmart? Maybe you should see what's around your area.

Where I live our big grocery store in town is cheaper than Walmart as well on almost everything.

FAGE Greek yogurt rocks. Very plain and you can add anything you want to it from honey to nuts to chives and onions, any fruit or veggie and herbs.

Walmart has the 2%, it comes in full fat too.

For butter I like Kerrygold, Walmart has that also, organic, pastured and unsalted.
