Received notice for Biometrics Scheduled for 5/10/16.

Hoping everyone else will be getting theirs soon also.

6/2005 we met in Brazil, I returned to US we stayed in contact.

9/2005 returned to Brazil asked her to marry me. :dancing:

11/2005 moved to Brazil and got married.

6/2006 daughter born in Brazil.

11/2006 took wife and daughter to meet my family in US.

10/2012 vacationed in the US 3 months

3/2014 2nd daughter born in Brazil.

11/2015 visited US again

12/2015 decided to start AOS.

4/4/2016 mailed AOS package

4/6/2016 AOS package received.

July 2009: Met in Italy, during a conference.

January 2010: I came to Chicago to study abroad for a quarter.

June 2010: I went back to Turkey: time for some long distance relationship!

September 2011: Came back to Chicago to start my graduate degree!

March 2012: We moved in together.

fast forward, October 17th, 2015: We got married at our backyard, with a beautiful ceremony.

January-February 2016: We were both in Turkey together!

April 1st, 2016: Sent in the package: I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131

April 4th, 2016: Package received, signed by CHYBA.

April 10th, 2016 (Day 6): NOA1 received

April 11th, 2016 (Day 7): Checks cashed

April 12th, 2016 (Day 8): NOA1 Hard copies received

May 2nd, 2016 (Day 29) Biometrics Appointment received, biometrics scheduled for may 12th.

May 3rd, 2016 (Day 30): Walk-in biometrics successfully completed

June 7th, 2016 (Day 64): Expedite Requested on EAD

June 9th, 2016 (Day 66): Proof of job offer sent to uscis via fax

June 14th, 2016 (Day 71): Expedite Request was assigned to an officer for response

June 16th, 2016 (Day 73): EAD status changed to "New Card in Production" and AP changed to "Approved"!

June 20th, 2016 (Day 77): EAD status changed to "Your card was mailed to you"

June 23rd, 2016 (Day 80): EAD/AP Combo Card Arrived!

I recieved my hard copy for my biometrics today and it's scheduled for 05/09/2016

But I'm gonna walk in there on Monday and go do it ..a friend told me I can go there ahead of time

2016-4-01: AOS Package mailed to USCIS (I-485, I-130, I-765)


2016-4-11 : Package received; NOA date


​2016-4-29: Received biometric appointment letter; appointment set on May 9th


2016-5-02: Completed biometric appointment as scheduled ( early Walk-in )


2016-6-20: Called USCIS customer service and make a service Request on the 75th Day for I-765


2016-6-23: I-765 status changed to "your new card is being produced;


2016-6-28: I-765 status changed to "card was mailed"


2016-7-01: I-765 status changed to "card was delivered to me by the post office"


2016-7-20: I-485 Status Changed to Test and Interview

So, my NOA says my applications have been received, though it doesn't say "accepted" : do they need to say they were accepted? Or was that only the case at the end of the process, when they accept the application itself?

You receive the NOA ( Notice Of Action ) only to tell you the process has been started.

can someone really do a walk in without appointment

Yes you can, but keep in mind that they might return you because of their tight schedule. Mine is the 9th which is next Monday, I'll just wait.

To Do a “walk-in” – Take your biometrics notice to the ASC any time BEFORE you are scheduled to appear. Almost all Application Support Centers will process your biometrics on a walk-in basis. Understand that this disrupts the normal flow of the office and you may be required to wait until all scheduled applicants have been serviced. Make sure you bring a government-issued ID document and your original biometrics appointment notice. The biometrics appointment is crucial to your application; without this document, you will not be able to have your biometrics captured. This is the main reason why individuals are turned away at the ASC.

I walked into USCIS application service centre today ahead of the appointment date and I was able to do my finger print successfully ...so I advise my fellow April filler to do the same thing too

I spent approximately 2hrs max including everything

My AOS Timeline (From B1/B2):

2016-4-11 : Package received; NOA date


​2016-4-29: Received biometric appointment letter; appointment set on May 9th
