Yeah, approved! We had 2:25PM interview today at Detroit office. Got there around 1:30PM and waited outside till around 1:50pm ish since the interview letter saying "don't be there more than 30 mins earlier". In fact, no one there didn't even care much about it as long as you are not super early I guess. Waited till around 2:40pm and got called in. The lady was extremely nice. She checked out ID and asked us to take the oath. Before she got into the standard question like how we met, she questioned me on my last entry on a tourist visa. I explained my situation that we didn't plan AOS but consular process at the first but things changed at my work so I decided to stay and she said that's cool. Then she asked us if we wanted to submitted any additional documents that were not included in the original package which would be our joint car insurance and health insurance which I wasn't able to get at beginning without a EAD/SSN. Then just some Yes/No standard questions and she said she would approve us this afternoon. I asked the questions that my online status all sudden became invalid. She's like that's not a big deal. It could be just merged or computer glitch. Sometimes that happens to some cases have been scheduled. Then she explained the removal of condition and we should receive the green card within 3 weeks.

Around 6pm when on our way home. I received a text notice saying there is an update about my case. The online status became valid now saying "new cars is being produced"!

Good luck to everyone else on this journey.

Congrats!

As of today, our status for the AOS has changed to card being produced and will be mailed!

Congrats!

Our interview was scheduled for the 14th of September!! :o I really wasn't expecting it til like November. For the visa interview we were beyond prepared. I did tons and tons of research on what to expect. For this one I've done none! But I'll get to it now.

Congratz to all new approvals!

Good luck to you!

Hey everyone, My wife was approved at AOS interview on july 25th. Arrived at 10:40am for 11:am interview. They called us in at 10:55. The immigration officer was very nice, she asked us to take an oath and then asked a few official questions date of birth date of marriage, arrival date of my wife and when we decided to apply for AOS. Then she asked us about when and how we met, looked at our photo album. We had not one document with both our names on it. I explained why she asked if we had any questions, we said no, she said ok you are approved.

14 weeks from start to finish of AOS received hard copy of approval on 28th. green card should arrive any day.

God is so good.

Good luck everyone.

Helpful update, thanks!

Hello everyone, I have a question:

Until 2 weeks ago, my AOS case on the USCIS site read "As of June 18, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485 ....". Now, when I look at the same case, the case reads "As of July 28, 2016, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485"

Is it normal ? why the date change ? is it a simple update to prevent any inquiry or what ? I'm a bit confused

Do you guys have any idea ?

So I noticed that date changes like this happened with our application to, sort of randomly. we even had dates update when nothing happened. If I had to guess it would be that some one "touched" your file( accessed it)

Our interview for Sept 14 was cancelled :(

Our status online says:

We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if we need something from you.

We got a letter but it was just a cancellation notice and also says we'll get another letter.

Has this happened to anyone else?

To at least two people on the other April aos filers thread, they're also from Washington, so I guess it must've been some sort of problem on the field office. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/590635-april-2016-aos-filers/page-165#entry8269823

Ah, thank you! I didn't even realize there was another thread. Now I'm not as worried :)

Same happened to me. Originally the date was June 2, but then it changed to July 28.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to give an update.

We got my dads "welcome" letter in the mail 6 days after the interview. It states we will get his green card in a few weeks or so. For my moms application it still says "case needs to be reviewed" I guess it has something to do with bad bio metrics fingerprints, however that was just what the IO said at the interview were just waiting for some sort of letter for hers.

How long is the wait after mailing in your RFIE response? We filed in early April, they received it on May 16th. After waiting a lifetime we received an RFIE around July 6th. We had to find a new joint sponsor so after a mad scramble we mailed our response back on August 16th. Any idea on how long the wait could be to receive a response in regards to the EAD and AP?

This process.... the wait.... my god...

So in my experience its varies but if that's all that was hanging up the ead then it should be pretty quick. I would guess you will probably know within the next week or 2. remember the online system isn't always accurate, they could have already mailed your EAD card. check the mail every day.
