Just to report our timeline update. As or today June 30, 2016, our interview has been scheduled for Aug 4, 2016. Waiting for the interview notice to arrive in the mail box. Just got EAD approved last week and received the combo card this past Monday. Went to apply for the SSN and only took them 1 day to verify and approve me the Social security card.

No RFE at all through out. skipped the "ready to schedule for interview" part. It's been "fingerprint fee received" from the beginning and directly changed to "interview scheduled".

Just an update on EAD/AP. on 6/27 it said the card was being sent to printing, then the next day it changed to "case approved" then on 6/30 to "card mailed" then on Saturday 7/2 the card was delivered and the status online changed to "delivered to your home" so it took 5 days total to get the card.

As of today, "new card is being produced" for husbands work permit :D Interview hasn't been scheduled yet though. Good luck to all!

Does that mean that he can work when he receives the card? Because my wife also got the same status and we were just wondering if she can work once she receives the card? We also have her social security card and it says not authorized to work. Does that mean once we get the card we should get her a different social security card?

Yes you can work when you receive your EAD card.

You can take your ead card to the social security office and ask them to remove the cannot work stipulation.

Does her ssn say "not authorized to work" or "not authorized to work without DHS approval" ?

"Not authorized to work without DHS approval"

She is authorized to work now. The EAD is her authorization from DHS (USCIS is under DHS)

Once she get's her greencard, ask her to go to the SSN office with her gc and ssn and they will make her a new one without that stipulation printed on it

No problem but however, it sounds to me that you have been one of the lucky ones to have gotten an approval without having to attend an interview. I suggest that you give USCIS a call and inquiry about the status of your I-485. Do not mention that you have gotten a letter in the mail. You just want to see what they tell you and if they tell you that you have been approved then you can ask them what your next steps should be.

Good luck again and do keep us informed.

Many people adjusting for K-1 have their interviews waived, as they've already had those while filing for K-1, that's probably the case with OP:)

Congrats!:)

I follow the VJ topic with April filers for AOS from family based visas and a few people from there adjusting from K-1 have already gotten their GCs approved with interviews waived.
