My status was finally updated online then 3 days later I received the hard copy. I need to send in my tax returns for 2015. I had not filed yet as it was only April 4th so if you did not send in 2015 they will ask for them. They also asked for my wife birth certificate but in Brazil when you get married they take your birth certificate and the marriage certificate replaces that so we don't have it. We are trying to get one now. The funny thing is they tell us that if a birth certificate is not available another official document (such as a marriage certificate) will work. It's crazy, but we will be able to get the BC have it translated and send it along with my 2015 taxes.

Glad to help with the Signature. Good luck.

Hmmm, now you make me worried. lol

I thought I read it somewhere if you mailed in the package before the cut-off date for filing 2015 tax back in April (I think it's around April 15), you would not get a RFIE for 2015 tax return. We mailed our AOS package on March 29th and received by 31st. So far, we have not heard anything yet about RFIE or anything since early walk-in biometrics done on May 3rd.

On the case tracking app, I see lots of people around my receipt #/priority dates were getting RFIE; but also lots of them have changed to "Ready for Interview" just these days; but mine still stays at "Fingerprint Fee Received on April 5th.

The funny part I've noticeed through the app is that the online updates usually change at the same time for bunch of people in a row; like next 5 cases need REIF whereas then 5 other cases later in a row all changed to "Ready for Interview" which make me wonder if these actions vary between different CO whoever are handling your cases. Well, if so, good luck everyone for a nicer CO. haha!

Is anyone else still unable to check status online?

Yes, I still can't check my status online. Whenever I enter the receipt numbers I get told the system cannot recognize it.

Had my biometrics appointment today at the Phoenix office. Had to walk through some questionable parts of town to get there (I don't drive yet) but once I was there it was over in about 30 minutes.

Yes you can, but keep in mind that they might return you because of their tight schedule. Mine is the 9th which is next Monday, I'll just wait.

To Do a walk-in Take your biometrics notice to the ASC any time BEFORE you are scheduled to appear. Almost all Application Support Centers will process your biometrics on a walk-in basis. Understand that this disrupts the normal flow of the office and you may be required to wait until all scheduled applicants have been serviced. Make sure you bring a government-issued ID document and your original biometrics appointment notice. The biometrics appointment is crucial to your application; without this document, you will not be able to have your biometrics captured. This is the main reason why individuals are turned away at the ASC.

Question--- where do a person go for the biometrics? Clinic, police station cause of finger printing??

When you receive your hard copy it will have an address for your area. it may be close to your home maybe not. I had to drive 3 hours for my wife's. Good luck.

This may be a good sign. 10 days after my Bio i received an RFIE. So maybe you won't get one. Just be patient check your mail at home everyday and your e-mail, don't forget to check your junk mail also just incase a notice went there. I would wait another few day as it's only been a few weeks since your Bio, then call USCIS. Good luck.

My husband got his biometrics done today in St. Louis. It was quick and easy.

I see a few people posting about ready for interview. Is the interview at my local USCIS office?

I am an April filer as well and have completed my biometrics on the 18th and still haven't hear or seen any updates. I am assuming since there are no post from anyone regarding their EAD and AP that no one has received it as of yet?
