Hi everyone,

We sent our package April 4th and got my biometrics done May 2nd. I have read here that it takes about six months to received a new green card, however, I am wanting to apply for global entry, but I am unsure I can do it if my status is still pending as I am almost sure I'll need to enter my GC information. Anyone have tried to apply for global entry while their ROC is pending?

Thanks!

No, but my esposo (non USC) wants to apply for this as he travels so frequently. I never even thought to consider the pending new GC as something that might not let him get it! If you apply, let us know how it goes!

---

Got our biometrics letter in the mail today. Huzzah!

Guys, do you carry your original NOA letter with you all the time or just a copy?

Currently, I carry a copy of my conditional GC in my wallet. When it expires, I will start carying a copy of my extension letter too. Depending on the state you live in, you may not need to carry originals around. I don't live in a border state where you run the risk of being stopped and asked for immigration documents. Even if you do, I suggest you only carry a copy of that extension letter alongside your expired conditional GC. It's just too risky to take the original letter around!

Same here - 1 and a half hours! Well, apparently August 2015 filers just started getting their decisions and now December 2015 filers are getting theirs... so, I'm gonna take a guess and say maybe by Christmas?

Just curious where you're seeing that August 2015 filers are getting decisions for VSC? From the USCIS processing times site it's showing June 2015 cases currently being processed at Vermont. That would put us a year out.

Had my biometrics appointment yesterday at 11am in Hackensack, NJ. Very quick, there were 5 people ahead of me when I sat down and 3 people processing us. I think I was in there max 25mins. The guy at reception told me I was lucky as it was quiet. He said sometimes it can be a lot busier so I definitely advise getting there early!

Got my biometrics done yesterday in Birmingham, AL. My appointment was at 2 PM, but we went in there at 1 PM because we had nothing else to do (we got to Birmingham the night before to go to a concert) and wanted to see if they would let us in earlier.

Turns out, we had no issues. There were only a couple of people in front of me and the whole thing took about 10 minutes, mostly trying to get my fingerprints right. I wonder why there's always an issue with that.

So that's done! Now we wait (and wait and wait).

I had not received my NOA1 and my temp GC was about to expire. I tried getting and infopass online but it sees they never had one available.

Finally I decided to drive to the USCIS support center where they actually have a kiosk to request an infopass. I got the appointment, and got the I-551 stamp on my passport valid for another year.

I assume there is no other information I need from the NOA1 since the case number I have it on the bio metrics appointment letter.

Looks like we are mostly done with biometric.

Does everybody still see "Case status received"? Probably it will be up untill another letter comes.
