I was thinking of doing the same thing. I already made my cover letter. Did you submit new form? What about the date below your signature? Did you change that too?

I really appreciate it. I don't want to make another mistake.

I didn't submit another form. I sent same package with same signature, date and folder clip they had already punched. I added current date to my cover letter. I did send a photocopy of the old check. And keep copies of the entire new package, in case I get into any situation.

I did do overnight. Shipped on Friday the 22nd, received on Saturday the 23rd. But obviously, they didn't actually acknowledge receipt until the first work day after that, which was the 25th.

Another question: Will my spouse have to carry the ORIGINAL I-751 Receipt Notice with her after her card expires, or will a copy of the receipt do?

Exciting news for you! Mine was received on 26th, check cashed this morning. Looks like we are one day apart in the process so maybe I'll get my NOA in the mail tomorrow or latest Monday.

To your question: I would not advise carrying the original extension letter with her all the time. A photocopy would do unless of course you're living in a border state and close to a border (haha). However, I think she needs the original extension letter and expired I-551 card for anything official in which she needs a proof of status.

I'm worry because mine was received 26 and not signal of activity! No check cashed, someone same situation?

Bueso,

Don't be worried. I think this may be due to slight variations in how different banks process checks. From what I've seen so far, VSC seems to be treating cases as they are received in a fairly consistent manner. Some people on this forum said their checks initially showed 'pending' or 'processing' but mine was cashed outright (no warning!). So, your NOA may already be on the way while your bank takes one or more days to clear the check. I hope this makes you feel a lil better :)

Yay! Hopefully I'm just a week away getting our NOA1!

I am a tad bit worried as the mail has seemed to be slow recently. Yesterday (May 13) I got a card in the mail reminding me of a May 10 dentist appointment sent on April 27. Ummm? Also my dad, who lives one city over, said he sent me a birthday card four days ago and it's still not here...! Grr...

Finally received word that our check for $590 is "pending" as of today!!

Given that things are finally moving in Vermont again, I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone, but we just recently came back into the US after a holiday abroad. My husband's CGC is due to expire in July and, having read around on various visa/entry requirement websites, I was a bit concerned that we might encounter issue getting into the US or elsewhere with a GC that is so close to expiration, with no NOA in hand nor any proof of our check having been cashed.

On the contrary, however, no one outside the US seemed to take notice, and the very kind US CBP agent, upon our re-entry, merely asked if we knew the card was going to expire soon and was satisfied with our answer that yes, we know and that we have already filed for ROC. The only evidence we were in possession of until today was our USPS receipt that included the tracking number to Vermont, but I didn't bring it with us.

So lots of positive news in the past few days. :dancing:

My spouse's green card expires in July 2016. Last year in May, as we came into the US from Australia, the Immigration Officer scared her to death when he commented that he hoped she'd filed her Removal of Conditions, as her Green card was expiring soon! She nearly fainted, but luckily, she was able to inform him that her card wasn't up until 2016. He looked at her card again and apologized for mis-reading the date!

So they do look, and they do remind you!

So glad Vermont has started to process again. I'd like to get the biometrics out of the way....
