Coincidentally I just updated a thread with this kind of info. I've been working remotely for my Canadian company since I moved to the US last September. I had my AOS interview this afternoon and the officer did ask us if I was working and we replied yes, I was working remotely. He didn't seem either surprised or concerned and my green card was approved this afternoon.

I am not an expert but as far as I understand, if you are hired by a non-US company and works remotely (just like Loki_Go), you should be fine and you are not violating laws.

In my experience, I have worked for months here in the U.S. on a business visa, while I worked for a Brazilian company. It was a multinational American company with local offices in over 40 countries abroad (which coincidentally happened to be in the insurance business haha), and I was hired by the Brazilian company. It means that I was hired in Brazil for a full-time position, the contract followed the Brazilian laws, I reported to my manager in Brazil, my paycheck went to my Brazilian bank account, etc. but physically I was here. They brought me for training and to learn from experts - which were Americans, hired by the American company.

I worked with my manager in Brazil and my mentor here, to make sure to follow the Brazilian rules as well as the American ones. For example, when it came down to holidays, for carnaval, Brazil has 3 consecutive days of holiday + the weekend. But since I was assigned to work in the U.S. at the time, I worked through carnaval, and took 3 days off later on after my assignment was over.

Thank you.. I also read that thread and it is very helpful.. I feel more confident now in saying Yes to their offer. I have alot of expenses here inthe Philippines and I want to help my fiance even a little, Im still paying for my/our future house mortgage.. It will help us if I can retain my employment.

Although it's important to mention that I didn't apply for AOS at the time. I went back home, which I imagine you will have to do to finish employment at home country, take care of bank accounts, etc.

I would definitely look further into which visa you will need to enter the country since the business visa is considered as nonimmigrant.
