Have to have some work ethics to begin with

Been there, somebody I know is bringing 3 ladies over on J Visa's this summer, the local labour sadly matches the above.

An interesting point no doubt, but beyond me.

People want to make this primarily a police issue because it lets them do what they love to do: Blame someone else.

Police don't make an 18 year old pop out her third kid from the third useless sperm donor. She did that. Police don't make kids fail out of high school at a 50% rate. They did that.

Out in the suburbs we don't have a bad relationship with the police. Or a good one. We don't call the police, like ever, because nothing happens. And that's exactly why people move to the suburbs: inner cities are full of people who will never amount to anything because they were born into a terrible situation because those before them failed to fix it. They will be raised to fail at life and immediately resort to crime.

You know what? You would make sense if you didn't let your bigotry cloud every post you make. This isn't about single mothers. It's about crime and police. I know you'll do what you can to lay the blame on everything else, but this is a stretch even for you.

I grew up in the suburbs. For a time. Problem was, when more minorites started moving out there, the majority left. Once that happens, the services follow them. I watched my neighborhood decline and crime moved right in with no worries. The cops that used to patrol so much they knew me by my first name were non existent after our neighborhood became more diverse. They didn't move far, just right across the main street to where we weren't "allowed". To this day, you still can't drive through that side of the neighborhood without going all the way around. And it's only a few minorities that live there. Because the houses, even though are roughly the same, cost way more.

Also, some people do make it out and make something of themselves(Ben Carson, Oprah Winfrey, Viola Davis, Tyler Perry to name a few). Your statement as about as false as it is dismissive. You ALWAYS have a choice. What you do with it is up to you, but growing up in places like that make it way harder than it needs to be.

I've read about this years ago. We've long suspected that drugs were brought in by the government. But folks be like nah, forgetting things like Tuskegee...

So the minorities became the majority. And the new majority brought crime with them?

You have a tendency to form conclusions without actually educating yourself. It's a common foible. And you lash out when your ill-founded views are challenged. I can't help you with that, but I am sure it hurts you in other parts of your life outside this forum (you know if that's true or not).

http://www.ncsl.org/research/human-services/child-poverty-rates-and-family-structure.aspx

Family structure is important to the well-being of children. Parents and family life influence a child’s well-being throughout early development and into adulthood. The family unit plays an instrumental role in cognitive, social and emotional development. Research shows that children born into intact married parent families are more likely to thrive economically, socially and psychologically. Having children outside of marriage is associated with higher child poverty, poorer educational outcomes for children, and greater public costs, including increased child support enforcement expenditures.

According to the Census, children in married households are the least likely to be in poverty, at 11 percent.2 Children living in single-mother households have poverty rates more than twice that of children in single father homes (48 percent vs. 22 percent).

Oh snap, what's that, some facts that back up what I said?

Keep blaming the po po for teenage girls having kids and 70% of black kids born outside of marriage. Police didn't do that, sorry, :)

So the minorities became the majority. And the new majority brought crime with them?

No, the city doesn't want to take of the new majority. Can't explain it any clearer that that. I know you want to believe otherwise, but I've lived and seen it.

Yeah. Wasn't the Tuskegee experiment, something....

Fascinating stuff.....

Yep, and folks can't wrap their heads around it when we point out the sinister nature of how this country handles it's black citizens. That was within living memory, not 100 years ago.

And you have a tendency to let hate and racism guide your posting. Kind of like talking about ending racism but hating on Muslims. And ill founded views? Coming from a dude who has a Quran quote in his signature but wants to keep Muslims out of the country. I'm not sure if you're just confused, or sad. Maybe you can get some help with that.

Tell me something, what does having kids out of wedlock have to do with the police? Because I can list quite a few people who did and they're not out committing crimes. And having kids doesn't equate becoming a criminal. But I know you refuse to have any empathy for us so this just fits your world view. It's lazy and dishonest(where have I heard that before), but you have no issues doing it when it suits you.

Well written report I'm sure they didn't read. Of course the government is response for the drugs, because if they are they'd never made it into the country in the first place.

Then these presidents implement a war on drugs to lock up minorities

So it is not the area itself, what is it about these areas that cause the crime rate to increase when a minority/ minorities move in?

Uh oh they are tag teaming and +1 ing!

That's what you get when you marry a person whose thought process and experiences mirror your own. Not to mention she grew up in one of those "hoods" you keep swearing that produces nothing but criminals and lowlifes. And yet somehow, magically, she has almost 3 degrees(working on her Masters), speaks 3 different languages, been to various countries, and just an awesome individual to boot.

But if it's a problem for you, have your wife create an account here. And then she can see your opinion for what it is and +1 you. Wouldn't that be peachy?

I've said it before. When minorities move in, the majority moves out. Once that happens, city services follow them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_flight

The business practices of redlining, mortgage discrimination, and racially restrictive covenants contributed to the overcrowding and physical deterioration of areas where minorities chose to congregate. Such conditions are considered to have contributed to the emigration of other populations.

Cops in those areas place minorities in the worst position there is. They don't care to go after the drug dealers and gang members that set up shop after everyone else takes off. At the same time, harass the ones who AREN"T committing crime because of the apathy they feel for the population as a whole.
