I would like to ask if anyone know how to send the RFE back. Should i include the request letter or anything else or should i just send the birth certificate and passport pages too just in case?? Thank you!

You would have to contact the hospital that you were born at to get you the long form of your birth certificate. It'll look similar to: this

The USCIS will only accept the long form of a birth certificate. Not the short form.

I read that a passport did satisfy the requirement for some. But make sure to copyevery single page of your passport (even the cover!). Include the document that you have for your birth certificate. Do you have any family that could scan and upload a copy of your long birth certificate? That would work as well.

The US Citizen can send either their Birth Certificate OR a scanned copy of all of their passport pages.

For the person who said they got an RFE for birth certificate, order your birth certificate through https://www.vitalchek.com thats where I ordered mine and I have never had any problems, i highly suggest you also send a scanned copy of all of your passport pages.

If you sent a copy of your passport, that's probably why it went through. I don't think the BC's that are issued by vitalchek are enough on their own simply because the USCIS is looking for the long birth certificate. That's why they require the front and back of your B/C. The person who got an RFE for their BC did in fact order it through vitalchek.

I searched fifty cases total by case number (30 before mine and 20 after mine). All cases (regardless of type) received on 07 April have yet to be reviewed. There was a smattering of other dates that had RFE's and approvals, but cases marked 07 April haven't been touched.

Seems strange that we are seeing approvals for late April filers, and very little for those of us from the first half of the month. Any input or insight is greatly appreciated.

It could be that there are a lot of different kinds of petitions near your number?

I did a search today on the app of the 500 cases after mine (receipt dates April 14th and April 15th). I filtered it so that I could only see the I-129 petitions and I saw that 38 have been approved, 12 have gotten RFEs, 1 has been rejected, and 30 have not been looked at.

I was born in Los Angeles, the hospital I was born at no longer exists due to damage from the 1994 Northridge earthquake. California required me to get my birth certificate through vitalchek, I guess thats who they are using these days. The birth certificate was indeed in long format as they call it, and printed on the official government watermarked paper, in fact the reason I ordered it was because it was required to get my passport, so uscis did indeed accept the birth certificate from vitalchek. Maybe he didn't copy both sides? Now, for my I-129F I provided only my pages from passport, ALL pages, but not the cover of the booklet, and it was accepted by uscis as well. Since he was issued an RFE for birth certificate, I would advise he also include all pages from his passport, AND either send the same birth certificate he provided initially (both sides!), or order again from vitalchek and be sure to order the long / certified copy, not the other option (I forgot what they called it but its not the certified version).

Sound advice! I reckon you're right about either the fact that both sides weren't copied or it was the short form of the BC! I went on vitalchek and they do in fact have the long form. I didn't know that :D Good to know in case anything happens to my BC in the future as well!

From what I understand, there's no real order that goes into case viewing. I think I read somewhere that basically, all cases go into one area for processing, and are basically 'picked out of the bin' for lack of a better term. Though it is odd that April 7th has has seemingly no progress as a whole. The only thing I can say is that it may be just up to chance. A couple weeks ago I was looking at the first 10 cases before mine and the 10 after it. Two cases after mine had been approved. Looking at them again today, that's still the case. Mine's been the only one that's been viewed and approved in those two weeks. I don't think there's any method to who's case get's selected. Which is good and bad. It's good because that means that the delay is simply due to the fact that they haven't gotten to your case yet, but bad because that means that there's more waiting involved :(

As long as we're all here for each other, we'll all make it through this process with most of our sanity intact! (hopefully)
