Maybe you are our lucky charm....we got our NOA1 today as well in the mail!!!!

No email or text tho so that was strange. Let the good times roll! haha

Do tu remembr if you entered it correctly ? For example i made a mistake and instead of writing gmail.com i only put gmail. ( forgot the dot com) so i only received a text but no email.

My fiancé and I are beyond frustrated and just want to start our lives together. We couldn't stand being apart anymore so he is coming a week from Friday and will be visiting for 2 months! Its not a perfect situation since he can't work while he is here so money will be tight but at least we can be together. You are so lucky that you live so close and can visit often! I hope everyone else is hanging in there...

Wow, 2 months.. not bad at all!! I'm sure that will make the wait much more bearable. Hang in there!!

Sadly for us my fiancé is all the way in Casablanca Morocco and I am in Puerto Rico. The plane ticket price is not for a couple of days plus it can be over 20 hours and he cannot fly to visit either. To this you add that taking a week from work doesn't happen lightly. We gave to be patient - easier said than done - thank God he has more patience than me :-) it is hard to plan a wedding and separate place, music etc when we cannot have a date. Apparently as I read spring and summer are the worst filing months. Good luck to all of us !

I'm sure people before us have gone through the same and now they're living happily with their partners! You are right we have to be patient. Good luck :D

Approximately how long after an NOA2 does it take to have visa in hand? Does anyone know roughly?

It depends on your consulate/ how fast you do what you need to do (get medical exam, police report, ect.) For London we are thinking that it will probably be between 2 and 3 months for my fiancé to have his visa in hand but that is just a guess based on peoples timelines that we have seen

I am the exact same way! I am the USC and I have already filled out the affidavit of support and gathered all of those documents that I will need on my end. My fiancé did get his police certificate and shots already- I think the police certificate expires in a year so there shouldn't be any harm in getting it now.

I thought that we were a "straight forward case" as well and since the UK is considered a low risk area for immigration fraud I originally thought that our process might go faster than others... Unfortunately what I have come to realize is that it really doesn't matter how easy your case might be because applications are looked at in the order they are received.

The only real way to speed things up is to be prepared for the next step as soon as it comes. Once you get the NOA 2 you can start calling the NVC to ask for your case number so that you can book your medical and complete your DS 160 without having to wait for the embassy to get its act together and send it to you in the mail.

4/14/16: USCIS Receipt Date

Okay that's good to know - I'll apply for my police certificate when I get paid at the weekend.

My fiancé moves like a sloth which is frustrating but I'm going to beg him to sort out the affidavit and other bits asap. What did you need to compile for it? I've read checklists so I have a rough idea but do you have any tips?

Where in the US are you? My fiancé is in Austin, Texas and I am in London.
