Congrats!! So excited for you ??? did you guys wait for the visa at juarez?

Thank you :) no I went back to Tijuana and my visa arrived in 6 days (counting the weekend)

Hey, WE'RE APPROVED, TOO!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: And my fiance said she saw your fiance there! :)

So happy!!! Can't even explain!!! Cheers!!! :)

Congrats mabeatz!! And to all the other approvals as well

I have a question for the México's K-1 applicants. I just received my case and invoice # from the NVC and I was wondering would I be able to schedule the ASC and the interview with those numbers before receiving packet #3? If this is possible how will I be able to do this?

So sorry for the late answer I haven't been reading the forum the last few days. You can schedule the interview when the CEAC site says your case is "ready" might take a day or two after the status change. You need packet 3 however for the interview, medical and ASC. Some posters suggested you can ask for this letter to be reprinted at the information window in Juarez consulate. I didn't have to do this because my fiancé got his in San Diego aprox. 20 days after the case was sent to the consulate. I'm already in the US and never got the damn letter.

If you have more doubts feel free to send me a message. Good luck!

It's non-immigrant. If it seems confusing, it's because it's confusing. The Wikipedia page on K-1s lays it out fairly well:

"Although a K-1 visa is legally classified as a non-immigrant visa, it usually leads to important immigration benefits and is therefore often processed by the Immigrant Visa section of United States embassies and consulates worldwide."

So legally non-immigrant, but practically speaking, the embassies handle them more like an immigrant visa. I think this is why you use the NVC number leading up to the interview for tracking, but the DS-160 number to track it afterwards. Once the practical work is done, it goes back to being technically non-immigrant.

Thank you! You're right, it is confusing. Soon as I think I have it figured out something else throws me for a loop.

You can use this to track the status: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

You will have to use the NVC number up until the interview. Post-interview, I've heard you can track the visa using the AA number you get from the DS-160. When using the NVC number, you have to use immigrant. Afternwards, select non-immigrant.
