Ohh well that is a good guess, I hope you are right about that :)

I have a theory that part of the reason why the whole process takes so long in general is because the government tells USCIS and NVC to stall in order to keep immigration under control which would be understandable but it very frustrating when you are going through it! I think I have used up a lifetimes worth of patience through this process! lol

Not sure stalling is realistic here, otherwise they'd just create a larger and larger backlog. To control immigration, it's an easier policy to simply deny/limit visas, particularly higher volume visa requests--which is what they do. K1s are kind of a drop in the bucket as far as total immigrant visas, so I don't think they have limits. The reasons processing varies from case to case are likely circumstantial: how complex the case is, verification functions, country (varying regulations), human error, etc.

Yes for the medical you can print a screenshot of the CEAC NVC READY status, my fiance just did that yesterday. For the interview you will need either a scanned copy of the NVC hard copy letter or the email from NVC with your case number and beneficiary name.

Hi K1_Journey!

Just have a question, my fiance got her CENOMAR on June 2016. Will the Embassy accept it? Or does she need to get CENOMAR this month for her upcoming interview? I believe the Cenomar has a validity of 1 year, but we want to be sure.

One more thing, on the us embassy manila website, it shows that all applicants need to have their medical 5-7 working days prior interview, But when she registered online with St. Luke's, she received a confirmation from St. Luke's that she needs to have the medical 2 weeks before interview. I am really confused right now.

Thanks! :)

Also important to note the volumes. I think the number of foreign born nationals who immigrate to the US numbers at greater than 1 million annualy, from what I've seen. K-1s are a five-figure piece of that--imagine trying to cut a pie into 50 slices. One slice is us. They're not going to affect immigration numbers meaningfully by delaying us. More likely it's just getting through a multi-agency bureaucracy process. It just sucks is the bottom line.

congrats ... so exciting for everyone ..i m sure it was all together when you submit ds-160 to pay fees

My fiancé filled out the DS-160 and I'm not sure that it linked for him to pay the fee. We kept trying thru the ceac website to pay the fee, but it didn't show an amount was invoiced. I called and they said it takes a few days for the invoice to show up, so we waited.....and then it was in transit to the Embassy and it states on the ceac website that any fees due will have to be paid directly to the Embassy now. I'm confused by it all LOL.

Were you able to pay the fee before you scheduled your interview or did you do it afterwards? I thought that for London you had to do it once you had an interview date?

Hmm yeah we have an account but when we select "I need to schedule a K visa appointment" it says that our case number isn't recognized. I guess we can't schedule the interview or pay the fee until it recognizes our case number?
