lol .... what an emotional roller coaster this is! earlier today, my fiancee was confused about which application we will need to fill out for our K1. (DS-230 or DS-160). Ok, so I explain that K1's are are a special "non-immigrant" type and we need the DS-160. Cool.

then, I get our NVC case #. TGIF, and what a way to finish the week!!!! fantastic !!!!!! top of the world !!!!!!

So, of course, I try out the case # with the CEAC status checker website. I select non-immigrant and get some sort of "INVALID CASE #". hmmm. double-check. try again.

fail. micro-panic. nah....probably just takes awhile to be entered? or not?!

call NVC again? 1st, let's try a quick search on VJ. aha....I'm not alone. try CEAC status check with Visa Application Type: "IMMIGRANT VISA (IV)" ?!?!

sure enough, it works!!! CEAC status check now says: Immigrant Visa Case Number <blah> : "At NVC"

top of the world (again) !!!!

lol, but now I get to explain to my fiancee to ignore the part about the U.S. Department of State saying that we have a IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION

Just received my case number a minute ago, Im currently sitting on skype with my fiance and he just hung up the call from NVC!!! Im so happy right now :'D

I thought we needed to have the medical at least 7 days prior to the interview so they have time to forward the file to the embassy? if we wait the 6 days for the ready status before medical that will put us about 8/5-8/6 and will only leave the weekend before our interview date on 8/9. I doubt they will have the medical info by then :-( There's also the possibility of not receiving the nvc hardcopy letter which is needed for the interview. as much as I'd like the interview that soon, it may be cutting it too close. Any thoughts?

Also i think I read that medical will give you a sealed packet with medical results to take to the interview. I read someone say that and said do not open. Thats for PH only. Other embassies are different.

For the Philippine female beneficiaries, should they schedule their medical after last day of menstruation, or should be one week after menstruation? Thanks!

And since yeaterday i am calling them for case number and they are saying it will take 2 weeks to get case number is that their recorded line ?????

Yeah they told me the same thing... I have been calling all week and they have said that they didn't have my case and today I called and they told me that they received it on Monday. The woman on the phone said to call back in 2 weeks (lol yeah right). I called a few minutes ago and the woman told me that "they are working right now on assigning your case number" and said to call back tonight or Monday morning.

From what I have seen they usually assign the day they get the case or within a day or 2 after that.

NVC received mine yesterday. Thats when I called at 8:30pm. I called back today at 10am and they had numbers assigned. I would keep calling.

Thats good to know cause from what I read package 3 is basically just a checklist. I guess we will wait for it before making the interview appointment although theres a lot of people here that make their appointments in a hurry after getting the case numbers.

For the 08/22, 08/24 interview slot, how many slots left? We are hoping to schedule the same date as yours but it's Saturday now in Manila that's why we have to wait til Monday.
