Hey guys,

Just called up NVC (they picked up the phone straight away, no annoying music yay lol!) and got my case number! My NOA2 was 24th June. I called up Monday and they still hadn't received it so they must have received it yesterday or today.

I've booked a medical in London for 2 weeks time (seems like they have plenty available spaces over the course of the next few weeks), in the confirmation email it says I also need to bring an email/letter from the embassy confirming my case number / visa type I'm applying for.....when can I expect to receive this letter?

Good luck guys!

Okay perfect! 2 weeks its enough to double check I get everything like my vaccination records/police certificate etc.

I haven't tried to book with my actual K1 interview at the London Embassy yet, I believe for London you can't even schedule your interview until they receive your medical results and then they assign a date to you? I could be wrong....

I was able to book i believe it was the day after it was in transit to the embassy. Once I filled in the ds160 and the readiness form and booked medical. But once you sign up to book your interview it will let you know if you can book it. Mine told be it wasn't ready the first time I tried but the next day it let me book, so I would advise you to try daily.

You can use the interview confirmation letter for your medical as you should have been able to book it by then.

So I got my case number from the NVC via email, I was trying to get them to correct my DOB before sending it to the consulate but I was not so lucky :( Now I have to wait until Montreal receives it so they can correct it.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the consulate to receive it? I was told by NVC that it was sent yesterday. Also, any idea of when I can start tracking the case?

Thanks guys!

Just checked mine...its also in transit! I must say my fiance and I are so surprised at how quickly things seem to be happening overall. When we first applied we were hoping for a January POE but even our relatively short wait for NOA2 has shortened our timeline significantly. We have had to change our plans a bit but we are so grateful! And hoping for a smooth, quick process from here on out.....

For those that have called to get NVC number, do you still get notice via email? And how long after you called were you contacted?

I'm trying to be patient, but I'm just wondering, if I don't call every day, will I ever get it?

Ideally they would probably notify you with the hard copy notice in the mail with the case number. But usually around the 3 week mark after NOA2 you should start calling periodially, maybe once a day or every other day. Today is exactly 4 weeks since our NOA2...the majority of people I've seen have gotten it between 3-6 weeks.

Nobody contacts you! You do the contacting. The only contact they make with you is the mail.

To piggyback off of your comment I will raise this question to anyone who might have knowledge... How long did it take for anyone to receive notification by snail mail from the NVC? The hard copy of NOA2 came very fast as if they sent it out at the same time as the approval. But we need to obtain a police clearance from Hong Kong and they will only issue that clearance with the letter from NVC and that is why I have that question.
