Hey guys,

Just called up NVC (they picked up the phone straight away, no annoying music yay lol!) and got my case number! My NOA2 was 24th June. I called up Monday and they still hadn't received it so they must have received it yesterday or today.

I've booked a medical in London for 2 weeks time (seems like they have plenty available spaces over the course of the next few weeks), in the confirmation email it says I also need to bring an email/letter from the embassy confirming my case number / visa type I'm applying for.....when can I expect to receive this letter?

Good luck guys!

Congratulations! Have you tried to schedule your interview yet??

From what I have seen, the embassy usually receives your case from NVC a few days after they send it, so I would imagine that you will have that notice in time for your medical

Okay perfect! 2 weeks its enough to double check I get everything like my vaccination records/police certificate etc.

I haven't tried to book with my actual K1 interview at the London Embassy yet, I believe for London you can't even schedule your interview until they receive your medical results and then they assign a date to you? I could be wrong....

04/15/16 ... I-129f mailed :goofy:

04/20/16...NOA1 notice date :dancing:

04/25/16... NOA1 email received from attorney :goofy:
06/24/16...NOA2 approval :luv:
07/20/16...Called up NVC and case number assigned. Booked medical for start of August.

08/02/16...MEDICAL COMPLETE.

Interview scheduled for the last week of August :clock:

Sounds good! I know that is how it used to be for London, but as of May you schedule your own interview and you can apparently do that as soon as you have the NVC number! I think that once you file your DS-160 you pick your date! I did see though that some people were not able to pick a date for a few days after they had gotten their number from the NVC (I think the case has to arrive at the embassy first). Exciting stuff!

Interesting! I do know they need to have your medical results before your interview so when if I have the choice I probably won't book any sooner than mid/end August but thats great insider knowledge lol!

Do you have you any idea whether this is done via the phone or on the regular website they use for work visa interviews, I had a performance visa last year and after I filled in the DS-160 I could choose my own appointment date as well, and the waiting times were pretty short!

I better start preparing evidence for the interview as well, VERY exciting :)

Haha yeah! So much better than waiting to hear about your interview date...Fingers crossed that there are short waiting times for this interview as well!

I have read that you need to leave at least 5 business days between your medical and your interview and that you can book it on through this website with your case number: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv

Interview scheduled for August 12th :star::star::star:

I feel so many things right now I cannot explain. I'm nervous, anxious, worried, happy, excited and just about to throw up.

People....guidance please. Can we do the DS-160 as soon as we get the petition number or do we have to wait for packet 3?

Several consulates advise to wait until packet 3, however I take it as a recommendation. DS-160 is like a biographical form, the only number associated to the process they ask you is the USCIS number (WACXXXXXXXX).

I did mine almost immediately after I got NOA-2 and experienced no problems scheduling interview, I'd say go for it!

Congrats to all approvals and to all who already got their NVC number. :) I can't wait to have ours, as well.

So... how long does it usually take for NVC to receive your case from USCIS and to have NVC number ready? We're heading to 2 weeks after our NOA2.

No. It asks for a case number and on a side note it says: case number assigned by USCIS

:crying:

You have to check the CEAC visa status with your NVC number. If it says "at NVC" or it says "in transit" it won't let you book appointment. If it says "ready", then it will let you book at the same page you're doing it rn.
