I am so glad I found this site too!!! I have been more proactive in the whole process, rather than waiting like the NVC and others have stated to do. My guy had already received his email regarding his interview date and time and has his medical scheduled......yesterday I finally received the letter from the NVC stating that our approved petition was moving on to the Embassy in Sydney (letter dated for August 3rd).....if we would have waited for that letter....I don't even want to think of how much longer I would have to wait to see my baby!!!

I am so happy for all of us....we are so very, very close (L)

Have u managed to find any flights yet or u waiting till he has his visa in his hand?

Well I have been keeping an eye on prices through sky scanner but we haven't actually booked anything yet... We are looking to have him come on Mon the 5th or one of the days that week but he is nervous about booking too soon... Its a tricky situation bc if we book it now and something goes wrong, he could end up missing the flight, but if we wait until he has the visa the prices are bound to skyrocket. I think once he has his interview (assuming all goes smoothly!) I can probably convince him to just book it then!

I totally get where ur both coming from. The U.K. Expedia website is good for flights. Where does he plan to fly into ?

That is a good idea, better safe than sorry! Ohh good to know!! Thanks for the tip :)

He will be flying into any of the NYC airports!

I actually just looked at sky scanner for prices for tomorrow and a few days from now just to see what prices would be like if we waited to the absolute last minute and they actually don't look too bad! Thomas Cook airlines has a direct flight from MAN to NYC that they seem to offer every day and the price is usually pretty reasonable... he took that the last time he was here visiting.

Last minute prices London --> New York, DC, Atlanta, or most points on the East Coast generally don't skyrocket right before! I've had to change flights/book last minute flights several times, and have had great success using:
