i just did my DS-261.

when can i pay the AOS Bills? After the petitioner( Agent) received the welcome letter and invoice identification number by email or mail?

If you login to the CEAC site and see that the AOS is available to pay, then go ahead and pay it, why wait? by the way, I encourage you to call NVC and have them review your DS-261 over the phone once you completed it. It saves you weeks of waiting for them to do it on their own. The girl who did mine was happy I called to get it done over the phone.

Just called and verified NVC received my wife's petition from the USCIS yesterday (4/4). Now to play the (hopefully shorter than the USCIS) waiting game! Good luck everyone!

This part will go faster than USCIS. If you have all of your documents in order and ready to go then you'll get through this NVC quicker.

Thanks! I'm always of the "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" mindset, just so I'm not crushed if we get a long wait =P (I probably will be anyways, though!) We do have everything except the PCC (wife is getting that today) and I need to pick up a copy of my old divorce decree, but beyond that, we should have everything and will also start noting down answers to DS-260. I had planned to call every week (for at least the first 2-3 weeks, then more often! =D) so good to hear that being confirmed. It does seem to be picking up speed now (for most people that I've seen) - hopefully that trend continues!

Hello my scan date was 14 march 2016. I lived in South Africa last year but located to the uk in january. I got my police clearance in august 2015, because you never know how long they going to take with documents there. But police clearance came in august, but now worried my clearnce wont be valid becuase i read its only valid for 6 months? I moved end of december to the uk will that police clearance be sufficient enough?

Hello BeckyMaria,

I am on the same boat. The Police Clearance I sent was issued on October 7th, 2015. I just got the email today from NVC that states: "The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 02­APR­16", so I assume my Scan Date is April 2nd, 2016. However, if the Police Clearance is only valid for 6 months (180 days), then it expired on April 4, 2016. I am hoping I don't get a checklist for that either. Has anyone else had this situation? did you get a checklist? No one answered BeckyMaría.

I'm gonna try to get that new police certificate ASAP but I really really hope I don't get checklisted! Our agent 'supposedly' sent it to NVC since early last year...so it won't be valid now ?. Have two more weeks to see if I get CC or not...the wait is killing me though.
