Hi everyone,

My husband's case was just approved by USCIS on Thursday. I'm trying to be as prepared as possible for once it finally gets sent to NVC (i'm a full time college student and I work as well) Since I rarely have time to do anything. I've heard that once you pay the AOS fee you can send your AOS packet and IV packet (since you send them together). I think I read this in the Wiki page that talks about NVC. I think it says that you save time by doing this but I was wonder if anyone has done that? If so, what bar code cover letter did you use for your IV packet? Do you just print out an extra AOS bar code cover letter? I would really appreciate the information! Thank you guys in advance! :)

You got it girl, you are smart and fast learner, I like that.

Yes, a lot of members including myself have done it and saved precious time.

NOTE: This is not a big deal, there is a small difference between the IV and AOS cover page: The AOS page has this line: Attn. CMR AOS.

In the IV cover page the same line says Attn. CMR. So if you are a perfectionist like I am, after you print the AOS cover page, edit it removing the AOS word and now you have an IV cover page.

Keep up the good work reading ahead of time, the NVC Wiki guide and the NVC official page have everything you need to know. https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved.html

Actually if I am correct your PD is 2014-JUNE-09, so you became current last month because March's current date is 2014-JUNE-15

I called today and was told my husband has to wait two months to setup an interview date. So, Thank You.

And, yeah, Im already confused with what an IR1 or F2A is; I'm petitioning for my husband to live with our daughter and I in USA.

Hey guys...my police clearance certificate has expired while at NVC, will they checklist me for an updated one or will they allow me to bring it to the interview. I'm really nervous about getting a checklist! Our case has been at NVC for over a year and I'm really frustrated now, I really can't handle anymore setbacks.

Hello BeckyMaria,

I am on the same boat. The Police Clearance I sent was issued on October 7th, 2015. I just got the email today from NVC that states: "The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 02APR16", so I assume my Scan Date is April 2nd, 2016. However, if the Police Clearance is only valid for 6 months (180 days), then it expired on April 4, 2016. I am hoping I don't get a checklist for that either. Has anyone else had this situation? did you get a checklist? No one answered BeckyMaría.

The best thing to do is to obtain a new one ASAP, regardless of a checklist or not, you will need one for the interview anyways.

If you are not check-listed, great; but if you are, then you will be ready to send it and gain time.
