Another very quick questioon lol.

Our joint sponsor is married and has two children whom he claims in his tax returns. He also filed his return as Married filing jointly. his wife doesnt really make any money and the amount he makes covers for all his dependents, his wife, and my husband (the beneficiary) as well.

my question here is: are we required to submit a I-1842A for his wife? even if we are not interested in using her income (its not needed). But do we still have to do it just because they filed taxes married jointly?????????

My wife filed 1040ez form for her taxes. I heard that if you file this tax form, then you should use the adjusted gross income rather than the gross income on the I-864(affidavit of support)! She filed using her gross income showing on her w2, as well as tax transcripts. Is that correct or did we have to use some adjusted income? Also, i heard that we had to write N/A in spaces that were supposed to be blank even though the instructions say to LEAVE THEM BLANK (such as leaving the mailing adress blank if it is the same as the physical adress)

Any thoughts would be highly appreciated! Thanks

Also, one of the dependents on the joint sponsor's tax return appears to have an minor income from a pension. this income is added to my JS income which adds the total income at the bottom. My worry here is that we really dont need this additional "pension" income to meet the requirement. My JS's W2 income is sufficient. However, I am concerned that if I put this total income in the AOS form, NVC might think im using the dependent's income and would request a I1864A.

If someone understands, please help.

AOS cover sheet can be retrieved anytime through the payment portal CEAC. It will give you the option to print or email either the AOS or IV SUpporting docs cover pages

Call nvc to check up on my case, got through with a nice agent lady,I ask her if there's any updates on my case and she say that they received my documents but its still here an its not been review as yet but as soon as they get to it they will update me about it..uuuugh wth they don't even start to review it yet woow..smh help me lord on the this...????????????

So do my father in law and husband both need to file I 864 forms or something else. Please help. I need the help as soon as possible. Im very confused! Thank You

I assume that your husband is the petitioner? If so, then yes, both your husband (= petitioner) and father-in-law (joint sponsor) need to file. Even if your husband doesn't make enough money to cover you he needs to send in the I-864. good luck!

I believe your husband would file the I-864 and your father-in-law would file the I-864A. That's my understanding, anyways and appears to be what the instructions say.

"A separate Form I-864A must be used for each household member whose income and/or assets are being used by a sponsor to qualify."

I did my IV application friday and I called NVC and they told me we should only submit the current 2015 tax transcript with the civil documents.
