Hey LinJoe,

I feel your pain on waiting for another 30 days then being informed to be put on supervisor review. I had the 2nd scan date on March 14th. when it hit 30 day mark( around April 14th ), I called NVC. The first rep told me they're still waiting on the requested document for my checklist. I had to ask her to check again on her computer to know that they did receive my checklist package. However, my package was sitting there for 30 days not being touched. The rep was nice enough to forward it right away to the supervisor for final review. I was devastated when I was told I would have to wait for another 42 days to get a CC.

my husband had Senator John Cornyn in Texas involved in our case on April 15th. We received a letter on April 20th from the Senator stating that NVC received our package on March 14th, and it will take 30-45 days to complete the review. Well, how about the supervisor review they said they're putting me in?? I am really confused. BUT, right as I got off my phone with my husband about the letter from the Senator, I went on CEAC without any hopes, and I saw 3 N/As. I don't even know if I should call to confirm if I get the cc, or it's just a joke again like last time.

I want to think that getting senator Cornyn involved is actually helpful, but my husband received the papaer mail from the senator this morning saying to wait, and now I saw 3 N/As at night time???? I'm scared to call NVC to be honest. They always have a different answer.

To share my story with you. but God bless you, my friend. I hope everything goes smooth for you finally.

Thanks Kelsilee1031. I've reached out that same Senator's office. Here's hoping something positive comes out. Mumbai will start scheduling June interviews next week and I want to be part of that group!

are you from Texas, too? I was told to be put for supervisor review on April 14th. Then, my husband reached out to the Senator on April 15th. I saw 3N/A's on April 21st today. They told me it was completed on April 18th.

4/14 supervisor review

4/15 reached out for Senator

4/18 case completed (I was told on 4/21)

4/21 got a letter from the senator saying NVC received our checklist package on 3/14, to wait 30-45 days in the morning.

saw 3N/A's at night and called to confirm.

You can always call and check and they will let you know. I called and they did confirm when they received it.

I'm not sure about the checklist you mention. I always thought the checklist was what you got after submitting documents if they needed something else from you. (I'm only at the step where they just processed the AOS and IV fees)

I think you might be getting a bit confused with the wording. If USCIS just sent your approved petition to NVC, then you need to give it about a week and start calling NVC to confirm they have received it. Once they confirm, then wait at least a week to start calling and asking for your case number and Invoice number.

Don't ask about receiving a checklist. no one wants a checklist. A checklist means NVC sees that you are missing a document, didn't sign something correctly, sent the wrong something or needs additional documents. That only delays your case from being completed. Trust me when I say you don't want a checklist.

If you are referring to the Document Cover Sheet that will be in the Welcome email from NVC that's different. that Document cover sheet will have a list of what documents you need to submit. You can find that on the Department of State website and VJ has a process Wiki that will help you with that. both links are below. Read through both carefully and multiple times. I say this because you may read something the second, fourth or even the tenth time and learn something new. I hope you already started gathering your documents while you were waiting for your petition to be approved.

I need help guys!

I just got off the phone with NVC and I was notified that I would be receiving a checklist for our marriage certificate. Here are the details: my husband is Lebanese, but we had a civil marriage in Cyprus. Our marriage certificate is from Cyprus. The official language in Cyprus is Greek, but all government documents are published in English.

The marriage certificate I provided NVC was the same that was provided to USCIS. USCIS had no problem with it. NVC is telling me that whoever reviewed our documents is saying that we only submitted an "English translation" and not the original native language certificate. I don't have any translations of the marriage certificate because it is only in English, which is the original, which is what was submitted.

The operator recommended that I submit a statement explaining this, but it would still take 30-45 days to review. Does anyone have any advice or anything I can do? They would not allow me to speak to a supervisor and they said they could put in a request for a supervisor to review, but that it would take up to 42 days for a supervisor to get a hold of our case. I asked if I could verbally explain this or if they could explain what I just explained and they said no it has to be submitted and then reviewed in another 30-45 day period. I also asked if my husband could just take the marriage certificate with him to the interview which is what he will be doing anyways and they said no, it has to be submitted to NVC.

Does anyone know of anything I can do?

My heart is completely shattered!

UPDATE -

Since getting the news around 6:30 AM Central time this morning, I have called NVC probably around 20 times to get more information and possibly speak to a supervisor. I got wiser with each call and instead of going into too many details I would basically start like this "I know I'm getting a checklist for our marriage certificate, can I please speak to a supervisor?" and they would immediately transfer me. The majority of the times a supervisor was not available to answer. On one of the calls the operator offered to put in a request to have a supervisor call me back and I did that and also asked what the time frame is for a supervisor to call me back, which I was assured was unknown. I did not wait after putting that request in. I continued to hang up and call again until finally, I was able to get a supervisor on the line.

The supervisor I got was extremely helpful. I explained that the marriage certificate that was submitted is the original and there is no other marriage certificate I could submit and it is not a translation. She looked up the reciprocity schedule for Cyprus and said that she has requested the case be sent specifically to her and to allow about 2-3 days for it to arrive to her desk (not the usual "up to 42 days"). She said she would look it over as soon as it arrives and make a decision if it is acceptable or not. She verified my telephone number and said she would personally be calling me once she reviews the certificate by the end of next week.

I also offered to get a written statement on a letterhead from the municipality in Cyprus stating that the marriage certificate officially is in English and not in Greek and what I have is an original and not a translation. I asked her if I should snail mail this to NVC at the same address where I originally sent the documents and she said no. Email it directly to me. She gave the details on how to email her and I thanked her so much for her help!

Before I hung up with her I asked if she thought we would make it in time to get scheduled for June interviews next week when they start scheduling and she said it's very possible if the queue is not long enough where we would get cut off once all slots were scheduled.

Moral of the story, if you have an issue with NVC...keep calling until you get the help you need!!!

I'm filling out the I 864 form and following the instructions. Just to clarify in part 2 it's for the principal immigrant which is my husband. Do I also have to include his information in part 3 because according to the instructions this is regarding other people immigrating with the beneficiary?? Or at least that's how I understood it. Can anyone please clarify this.

Also in part 5 for the sponsors household size of I click 1 for currently married for spouse it's under persons not sponsored in this affidavit. I'm confused.
